Hi. I think I'll be starting a new TF2 map project: plr_bigcity. Bigcity is a map from garry's mod that is, well, basicly a big city. :/ I don't know if I'll finish it or release it or not because this is my first project and I'm kinda nervous.
Hello 3 hour long match times.
Could you, perhaps, only make a thread when you have at least made the base of the map?

Have fun with it, and use it as a learning experience. Even if you don't release it, or even completely finish it, you should put some work into it and learning new stuff about HAMMER. My first map I finished the basic layout of it but abandoned it after that, - partially due to nobody giving a fuck about except me, which makes it pretty hard for me to bother finishing - and I learned a shit load about HAMMER from it.

Just make your own map, it's not that hard when you know the basics.

I think the largest "popular" map is either Balloon Race or Wacky Races. Take that as you will.

Take that as you will.[/QUOTE] I've never played Wacky Races, but Balloon Race is pretty damned fun if you block sniper rifles and set some basic rules to keep dicks from ruining everything. It's been a while, but specifically I recall there being a rule against using the flamethrower's primary fire on top of the enemy boat, you could only airblast them or go below decks. This didn't stop everyone from doing it, but we had a lot of people who frequently played who could kick, and some of them got really uppity about that.

Make a gamemode where you find the key secrets of bigcity. The cafe of screaming or whatever the gnome, and another secret

Balloon race is a hella fun without snipers.

Battlefield Fortress 2 playlengths which'd actually be kinda cool but not on a map like this
