Well I finally reached 3 refined and I was gonna craft it anyway. So I am about craft, but I lose connection to the server. The first thing I hear when I come back is SUCCESS...TWICE.
So I craft and get Daimao's Frenchman's Beret...1 minute later I hear SUCCESS!!!
But oh well, forget the wrench I got one of my 2 favorite spy hats.

Sort of fails but,
Backbiter's Billycock + Bonk Helm = Mining Light(ok)
Hound Dog + Mining Light = Fancy Fedora (awesome)
Then 6 other scrap crafts
1 token craft
3 rebuild tokens
Fancy Fedora? Sweet thats my favorite official spy hat (for obvious reasons)

I got myself a Demoman's Fro after all the trouble of crafting most of my items, preferably the ones that I don't use (Bonk, Razorback, Natasha, etc.).
Still, I feel wasted because I already have a Glengarry Bonnet, which is the best Demoman hat in my opinion. =.=;
Craft two sco-res's, hear success, see that SOMEONE ELSE IN THE SAME SERVER got the wrench. He gloated at me, taunting. I was THE MAD.
I've been doing all my golden wrench crafts using jengers item manager. Haven't scored a wrench though, about 4 times i've been upto 5 minutes too early.
Can you craft items into scrap metal to be in with a chance, or has the end result got to be an item or hat?
dropped trublemakers tosslecap (dupe) so crafted with scotsman's stove pipe and found soldier stash, i have the stainless pot so i crafted my 3 rafined metals and found heavy duty rag (dupe) so crafted it with soldier stash and found vintage merryweather.
cool hat but i have glove already and i love glove on pyro hat, its best hat ever so thats pretty much failure

But my Bonk helm and Pyro's beanie got me a Demo's Fro so I'm alright with that.

I just posted 1 minute as an example, it was anywhere from 30 sec - 1 minute
All I crafted was 3 refined, getting a Shooter's Sola Topi (Which I am very happy about) and a Huntsman+Razorback resulting in scrap.
I was just about to click the craft button - "SUCCESS".

But later I found a dupe Killer's Kabuto and crafted a Tyrant's Helm from 3 refined so I'm happy.
I predicted time of a drop, turning on TF2 and what I hear?
SUCCESS.
Well, at least I predicted it. Oh, and It happened 2 times.
