http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=11023
If you'd rather not get spoiled on whether or not there's an update coming soon, you'd better not read the rest of this sentence, and you also might want to skip directly to the last paragraph of this post. Then also don't read it, because SPOILER: This post is allllllll about an upcoming update. First off: this update is going to have a list of patch notes longer than a stalemate on Hydro. Rather than just dropping all of that in your lap with no explanation, we figured we'd spend a few blog posts taking you through some of the soon-to-be-released update content, so you'd get an idea of the process behind some of the changes and additions we're making. Let’s start with maps. TF2 has been evolving since the day we released it back in 2007. Unfortunately, as players' tactics and abilities have grown, so have the bugs and exploits in some of the maps. For example, since Badwater shipped in The Heavy Update, TF2 has added more than 140 weapons to the game, some of which introduced new capabilities: sentry jumping, rocket jumping with no health cost, the ability to pick up and move your buildings. All of these are just a fraction of the many ways players can now turn maps like Badwater upside down.
tl;dr: 2 new maps and rip wrangler exploits cp_process cp_standin
it's so beautiful i am crying
I have to say removing those cheap sentry spots is a good thing. They will be missed but they seriously messed things up.
RIP Badwater exploit that allowed you to build a sentry in the BLU spawn
Two new maps look neat! I'd be lying if I said I didn't want more than maps though. More weapons? Game modes? Pleeeeeeease?
I'm so fucking pumped.
this update is going to have a list of patch notes longer than a stalemate on Hydro
i've never been so sad and so excited at the same time
Holy shit, new maps? Fixing map exploits? Oh damn I'm looking forward to this update!
Maybe 2fort will finally be more than deathmatch.
These maps are great. Hopefully they don't end up like gullywash or yukon and never get played.
First off: this update is going to have a list of patch notes longer than a stalemate on Hydro
Territorial Control maps confirmed for the future.
Well, this is a neat surprise. I wonder what they're going to do with the jumpers side of getting behind lines..
"First off: this update is going to have a list of patch notes longer than a stalemate on Hydro." Color me surprised that the team actually acknowledged Hydro :v:
I sometimes forget that you couldn't always move your sentry.
Sadly I feel that Process might suffer a fate mentioned above due to its lack of visuals. For example, Mountainlab and Nucleus are overplayed due to their visuals but have terrible gameplay). Standin looks interesting, however. I've never played Standin and it looks very interesting.

I don't think I've been this excited since the MVM reveal.

About time they had an update that focused on maps and gameplay. Stellar!
Kinda looks like a cloudy version of Yukon.
It plays totally different though.
So it's gonna be a big update involving bugfixes, exploit removal, maps being updated to be less terrible...actual...GAMEPLAY UPDATES? It's...it's wonderful.I need a minute.
...I'm starting to get excited about a game I haven't played in weeks thanks to this blogpost. Good work, Valve.
what the hell an update that isn't hats or mvm it's beautiful
I seriously hope when they fix those sentry spots they include places like on top of those pillars on Egypt Stage 2 and not just weird little nooks and crannies. Nothing wrong with Engineers getting creative with sentry placement but jesus christ that one is awful to have to go up against.
Now I can't be an ass and sentry jump my way on top of that roof and snipe with my pompson near the second point on badwater. That was my favorite sentry spot of all time Nevar 4get ;-;7 Also, I'm happy we got more 5cp maps and not some shit a/d or more koth maps, since 5cp is by far the game mode tf2 was made for, and the least flawed

It needs it, badly.

If this update is as big as they say it is, lets hope that Loch N Load fix we've been waiting for finally happens.
If they fix the Egypt sentry pillar I will probably break down into tears of joy
