• Best class to start out with?

I went to best buy and got this game today, so I was wondering. What is the best class to start out with if you're a newbie like me? :v:
Heavy
Pyro, I guess. Easy to play with...
Pyro
Hoovy :3:
Well first off, I suggest you read about each class in the wiki (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Main_Page), and play with each class, until you find one that fits your play style.
Backburner Pyro on 2fort
Soldier?
Although I recommend trying out different classes to suit how you play, Pyro or Heavy with a Medic is good for beginners.
Soldier ,easiest to use.
If I were you, I'd start playing each class, as "communist cake" said. At least that's what I did when I bought tf2 myself.
Probably Soldier
Soldier: Has its own tutorials and is super easy to use.
Scout or Spy.
I wouldn't say soldier is easy for a newbie...
Soldier I reckon. It's pretty much point and click, has both projectile and hitscan weapons. You won't be dying as much with 200 hp as well.
Scout, soldier, pyro, heavy. Try them all and switch when you feel the urge to.
I wouldn't say soldier is easy for a newbie...
Disagree. Comparing the TF2 soldier to the Borderlands soldier: They both shoot stuff, and they're good at it. TF2 Soldier is slow, but can accomplish most tasks by himself, and all with the help of a competent medic. Everyone can be good at shooting stuff, but most classes have a certain way of shooting stuff. tl;dr - Soldier is an easier class to shoot stuff with
He might aswell start with the more advanced classes, so it wont be so hard swifting to harder classes.
I say pick what you like. Bonzai! I went straight for demo, I love em.
Scout
Play as everyone, decide on who you like, play as the one you liked. Easy :buddy:
Medic. Your job as medic is to stay alive and heal teammates. You're forced to be highly alert and keep a good eye on your surroundings, which teaches you how to play. As you heal each class, you spend time watching that class and how it works. As medic, you play the role of "active spectator", which is to say you get a good look at the game and how it works, but without being bored at doing nothing. When you get tired of Medic, Pyro or Engineer. Pyro's a simple class to use (Not so simple to master, but that's another story.) engineer teaches defensive tactics, and lets you observe the action when you're not babysitting your sentry. You also become more familiar with spies. Heavy gives you tunnel vision when you're firing, which limits how much you learn from the things around you. Scout dies too fast, so you get frustrated. Soldier gives you a minimal sense of accomplishment unless you know what you're doing: Newbies will feel like they're just spamming rockets and doing no good Sniper's too detached from the game. Demoman suffers same as soldier. Spy plays too differently from the other classes, is detached from the action, is weak in unskilled hands, and depends highly on luck.
When I started, I was a W+M1 Pyro. Then I advanced to a more tactical Pyro. Then I started playing Heavy. Then I built some sentries as an Engineer. That got me a fair few kills.
Soldier or Pyro. Engineer once you know the maps.
Try everything out, but avoid the spy class. You'll see for your self which class are easy and fun. The spy is sometimes the most fun for new players, but the problem is that they keep going spy and they don't contribute to anything because they're terrible spies.
i usually play scout for his shortstop, speed, and double jump. and it fits my just-run-into-the-enimies-base-and-hope-for-the-best tactic i use.
Scout's good for bat hit and run situations. Go Scout with bat, jump around like crazy, and hit people with a bat.
There is no "beginner" class. Sure, some classes are easier to play than others but when you're skilled enough, you can use every class in a different yet more efficient way. Rocket jumping, airblasting teammates, helping others. The list goes on. You can't expect to win a round with a team full of Snipers, or any class for that matter. The game is called TEAM Fortress for a reason.
If you intend to play for fun, any class really, Heavy, Medic or Soldier are good starters. If you intend to play competitively, Soldier, Scout or Demo and don't stop playing until you're good.
