I know the latest update is really bad for you guys, unable to get the new items from drops and you can only obtain them through either crafting or buying them from the shop -- but don't you think it's time that WE did something good for Valve rather than they did something good for us? I mean look, for the first months/year they have been trying to make the game better and better by listening to themselves. And now they listen to us because we are the community and they hear "MORE ITEMS" and "MORE HATS" and they're trying their BEST to deliver all that as fast as possible. They brought all that for us and tried to make the game better so it's our time to give Valve a pat on the back, it's Christmas and it's time we did something good for that Little Gifted Child that was only praised but never given anything back for his great work and achievements. It's time WE help out Valve, let's keep playing the game, if we don't like something - fine, rant and I'm sure Valve will do their best to fix all this. Valve is Valve, they listen, they try, but they need something good for themselves too, or else there will be no TF2. (Rhyme not intended) [sp]I rated myself Winner accidentally, honest![/sp]
maybe we should just play what we already have and stop demanding content constantly
valve should turn off items for a week and see what happens
valve should turn off items for a week and see what happens
they did for like an hour a while back it was surprisingly boring and overhyped
Whatever we do, lets not start stupid Internet Petitions. EDIT: I wouldn't surprised if there already is 3 of them...
I think all the money we've given them, even for this one 3 year old product, is plenty of good we've done for them. :v:
valve should turn off items for a week and see what happens
it's awful go join a server that's disconnected from steam
I think Valve should just take a break from all the weapons and item sets adding, and rather focus on updates that iron out those errors that have been a plague in the game. Updates without polish just make the game and community look ugly. Hat additions are still fine I guess, as the community is still working hard to get those in, but hell if we get more wonky weapons that actually affect the way we interact with ( shoot ) people.
Why not just make the new weapons achievement based or easier to make?
Why not just make the new weapons achievement based or easier to make?
Achievements are too easy to cheat I guess. As is pretty much everything else. PC players are way too smart for any kind of progress system.
I don't mind the new update at all. I just wish Valve wasn't so lazy. I mean, common, using reused animations on the crossbow, not even a firing animation, just a small offset which takes 1 second to do.
Valve should release EP3 already, I mean seriously.

No new sound effects(except the brass beast and the fish),no new animations(except the shortstop and the milk),no new taunts and no new kill icons(latest update). That makes me sad. :smith:
Quality before quantity please.
I feel like sending Valve an email asking them if I can do any new animations myself, I mean how the fuck do you put an arrow in a crossbow by taking a small pointy cap then putting it back in.
Why not just make the new weapons achievement based or easier to make?
That doesn't keep anyone playing or bring in any money.
i honestly wouldn't mind joining the tf2 team if they really don't have enough man power. This is just dumb.
Don't you have to have thousands of qualifications and a couple years work experience before Valve considers hiring you?
Don't you have to have thousands of qualifications and a couple years work experience before Valve considers hiring you?
well considering how lazy they are i don't even care if i don't get paid.
Brb making a cool ass animation for the new crossbow
Valve did not keep the updating up because they love you so much, but because it gave them new publicity every update, and new people buying the game. Making the game cheaper in the process, including the 3 Dollar 3 hour sale, just brings more people to Steam. The strategy is to get publicity and more people to install Steam. Now they can do all that, plus getting money from microtransactions. There is nothing terribly philanthropic about a business.
Brb making a cool ass animation for the new crossbow
ass animation you say...
Guys, anyone know where the view models are now? I can't find them in GCFscape at all
I hope some day there is no tf2
Haha I haven't opened TF2 since they ruined it by adding all the shitty goddamn hats and items, it makes me sick when people discuss them as if they are really all that awesome.
I bought the game for 40 bucks a couple years back, valve have made their money. I'd rather the updates stop dead than have this shitty store being shoved down my throat, there's a difference between having a game store and making nearly every element of the game point you towards it.
Haha I haven't opened TF2 since they ruined it by adding all the shitty goddamn hats and items, it makes me sick when people discuss them as if they are really all that awesome.
It is the one major downside in the community. Sure some of the hats are pretty nice to look at and fit the character. But most of them are just cheap, 5 minute mash ups from community developers with no thought, yet these are the ones the morons seem to think are "worth" more. Unusuals just made that 20x worse, they are ugly, unfitting and just there to cause divides in the community (it seems Valve enjoys doing this). Valve may be doing all of this for us, mostly for free. But we don't have to give them back anything, a pat on the back is literally all they deserve, they are providing a service we paid for, that doesn't entitle them to much really. A "Thanks for the work, but please, stop touching the fucking game" is all I think I should give them for Christmas.
They haven't even took the time to not use the grenade launcher's w_models. I mean, come ON. It wasn't that bad with the pistol but this is just butt ugly.
they did for like an hour a while back it was surprisingly boring and overhyped
probably because you didnt have your hats
Quality before quantity please.
Come to think of it, that's the whole reason behind Valve Time, right? Taking your time to produce one thing that's great instead of half a dozen mediocre things. I think we often damned Valve Time but we always saw it as the lesser "evil" as well. If we didn't, the recent updates made us realize I think. Interesting to see what happens to Valve's products if you take that away. I thought they learned from L4D2 tho.
