• Mic won't work in-game

I got a new mic for Christmas it works fine in all other programs, Steam voice chat etc. I went into options while playing TF2 and tested the mic, it works. When I go into any server it won't work. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it, nothing has worked. Advice would be nice. Thanks in advance.
Did you set the push to talk key in the options? Look for "Voice Communication". It will probably be set to V. You will have to press that button while you talk. You could Change that key top anything you want. Alternatively, you can go into console and type 'bind * +voicerecord" *= any key you want Without the quotations, of course.
Thanks that solved it.
so you were just talking into a microphone without pressing or doing anything [editline]1st January 2011[/editline] v:v:v
The XBox 360 constantly transmits your microphone, maybe he was just used to that.
Most of the time I have the incoming microphone voices disabled altogether.
The V key wasn't working it was set to another key.
If you want to toggle the mic rather than hold it down, put this into your autoexec (I know I suck at scripting) alias vrecord "+voicerecord; alias vrecbind vvrecord; vrecord" alias vvrecord "+voicerecord; alias vrecbind vrecord; vvrecord" alias vrecbind vrecord bind KEYHERE vrecbind
The XBox 360 constantly transmits your microphone, maybe he was just used to that.
Pretty sure it has a toggle to turn the mic on or off. Mine did, anyway. Before the wires got eaten, at least.
