• GCFs not working

So, I decided to spend some of my time digging through the TF2 files, when I tried to open a file, it gave me the following error: "Error writing C:\Documents and Settings\Othniel\Local Settings\Temp\TFlogo.ttf (Error: Requested view (1554748796, 8192) does not fit inside mapping, (0, 0).)" When I attempt to extract it, it works, but then the file doesn't open, it gives me an error, too. The italic part being a dynamic number for each file. Does anyone know what the problem is? Sorry if this is the wrong section or I shouldn't have made a thread for it.
When I open the file in gfcscape, it works fine.
Redownload TF2. That should fix it.

I'm not going to re-download TF2 unless it's my last option, the game's working fine, if you had actually read the OP, it's just I can't access the files. I heard it had something to do with the size of the gcf being 4gb+ which caused an issue for some comps. If that's the case any tips or something?
Then you probably have an outdated version of GCFScape
I don't think it's that, I opened "team fortress 2 materials.gcf" and the files open correctly, also with every other .gcf, I have also validated the files and there's still an issue.
Did you download the latest version of GCFScape? He updated it on halloween to support the GCF's that where over 4Gb. [editline]20th January 2011[/editline] And when you need help, please don't say "I don't think it's that" without trying to see if it will solve the problem. It's not like we're charging you by the hour.
The issue with that some computers have, is that if you have a, I think it's RAD32, formatted HD, then the file deletes itself because it's over 4 GB. So if you have the file at all, that's not the issue. Update GCFScape, if that doesn't work reinstall GCFScape completely. If that doesn't work, then I have no idea.

[editline]20th January 2011[/editline] That is highly unlikely. FAT32 hasn't been used as standard HD format in a few years.

I knew it had an 'a' and '32' somewhere in it. It's unlikely, but still possible. Which is why I clarified why 'some computers' were having issues with the .GCF being over 4 GB, so he knew that it wasn't that. He needs to update GCFScape.
