Trade offers, being online with one at a time isn't a problem now.
As to whether this is a good idea or not, don't know, but they do have those limitations for a purpose and tend not to like people circumventing it, so go at your own risk.

Mist can trade, download that. I can recommend it works because I've used it plenty of times (it's designed for bad laptops and etc. for when you want to use steam for just chatting, and doesn't use near as much CPU [steam can regularly use up to 40% CPU on a fair computer]).
