• Steam won't stop verifying TF2?

So, I started Steam, clicked on TF2. "Please wait while Steam verifies game files." OK, I waited about a half an hour. Finally finished. I click TF2 again. "Please wait while Steam verifies game files." starting at 40%. I assume it's going to do it again? Anyone have any ideas?
clientregistry.blob Execute it. (maybe the file name is wrong)
Will try. It also says that the Steam servers are too busy to handle my request when it finishes, hm.. Thanks, trying it now.
clientregistry.blob Execute it. (maybe the file name is wrong)
What. You're supposed to delete it,not run. How would you run it anyway? With steam.exe? Good luck.
What. You're supposed to delete it,not run. How would you run it anyway? With steam.exe? Good luck.
Execute - Kill - DELETE. Take a joke please.
Execute is normally used to indicate running a file in computer terminology, so your reply was vague on that point - you may have confused the guy as he attempted to run a file that couldn't be run. When giving someone help, make sure you make yourself clear, as jokes are all very well and good until it makes someone frustrated because they misunderstood what you said.
If it doesnt help delete everything except steamapps (where your games are stored) and steam.exe. Then run steam.exe wait for it to re-download the steam platform and log in.
Or you could just manually verify it, by right clicking TF2 and finding the Verify option.

Are you serious about the delete everything except steamapps or are you just being an ass? :v: Trying the Manual Verify right now. Thanks guys.
This thread is cursed. It started doing it to me now. Trying a manual verify, I'll see what happens. EDIT: This fixed it for me. :D
Neither of them have worked D; Any other suggestions? Both manual verify & delete everything but steamapps and steam.exe didn't work. When I double click TF2..40% verified D;
Same thing happened to me, I tried to defrag it, but it wouldn't allow me to because my computer wasn't fully defragged (even though it was). I reinstalled TF2 completely, and it's perfectly fine now.
Well...I'd rather not do that >.<;
Sorry for the bump, but, I decided a reinstall would do. But this goddamn thing will not download. This must be my, like, twelvth time trying to download it and it just STOPS, completely randomly. Most of the time at around 71%-ish, but now it just stopped at 7%. What the hell.
OK, what the hell. 75%. "Download starting..." -_- Finally. Ninety percent. Almost done... Wow. I wasted my money, again.
I know how to fix that. Rename the steamapps folder to something like steamapps_old, then try downloading.

Oi, do I have to bump this again? >.< I don't want to get in trouble but I really want to know why the hell I can't play.
Reformat and reinstall?
Reformat? Why the hell should I have to reformat. I can't anyways, I have nothing to back my stuff up on.
