• scanner.tf - Free to Use TF2 Server Scanner

scanner.tf is a project I've been working on in my free-time for a while. It's a web based, free of use, TF2 server scanner. As of the moment, scanner.tf does nothing in particular to stand out from the rest of the already availible server scanners. However, I listen to requests, and future changes to the site and the scanner is bound to come. The max amount of players you can scan at the same time is capped at 50, but that might also change. If you would like to try it out, you can visit http://scanner.tf or http://scanner.tf/scan/ for a direct link to the scanner. I don't expect this thread to blow up since there are already existing scanners out there, but I thought it would be fun to share it with you guys. Below image showcases the scanner output. I crossed out the player names to not upset anyone.
what country does .tf stand for
Also projects/threads like these have been posted here before and it has always ended badly.
I can see why, since sites and services such as scanner.tf can be (ab)used to find new players with good items and trade them away. However, there are other uses, such as looking to see if anyone on your server has got anything you'd like to trade them for (and hopefully make a legitimate trade). Furthermore, I thought it would be fun to share this project here, it's my first thing I've released to the public, and I hope that some people can get some use out of it. :)

Now it's not completely obvious this is a tool meant for sharks.
Randomize player order and hide hours. Now it's not completely obvious this is a tool meant for sharks.
That is already in place because of my laziness. I have not yet added player hours, and scanner.tf doesn't sort the player order in any way. So you're more likely to have the scanner output them in the order you pasted them in. :)
what country does .tf stand for
territoire français which basically are a bunch of islands scattered around the world scanner.tf reminds me of the gibeverythingplz website thats name explains everything (except that site wants payments)
I'm not going to get into the whole sharking debate, but to me it's always a bit sketchy when a scanner has player hours in general. It's the items you're looking for isn't it? Not how many hours their owner has? And if that is what someone is looking for, they can see on their profile anyway :v:
What language is it written in? Also you will likely encounter problems with bots submitting to those unprotected forms and your security is crappy. For example I can make my name redirect to goatse (but opted for google instead) when I get scanned.
Sharking is what ruins the game and promotes bad habits also, TF2Endgame filters out the bad items and only shows things worth sharking so i wouldve used that over this....not that i would know...

I take use of JavaScript with JQuery to send AJAX-request so the site can load each result individually in the background. I'm working on improving the security.
I can't be the only one who reads this as "scammer.tf" Idea is pretty interesting, to be honest. The same was with trade.tf. I'd like to see what will come from this.
the french
Well, it's The French Southern and Antarctic Lands but close enough.
