• A proposed tweak for blueprints. . .

Let me start by showing you this link so we all know how the blueprints work now. As is, it's currently piss easy to specify which class and which slot you'd like something to be. Even if you don't have a certain class' weapons, if you have 4 weapons for another, and at least 1 weapon from the class you do want to have a token for, you can rebuild a class token. In short, you can specify any class you want within 5 items, only 4 of which must be tied to a specific class. (And just to point out, there's no slot restrictions.) The same can be said for picking a specific slot, 4 items from a specific slot, and then 1 item from a slot you want to have a token for (if the original isn't what you wanted). Now, we all know why the crafting system is here; to let us make hats. Sure if you REALLY want to, you can make a specific weapon, but for the vast majority of players, it's purely for the hats. I (and I'm sure many others) feel that Valve's approach is a bit. . .extreme. True, it does take 100+ items to make one, but there's a further problem with it than just that; it takes many, MANY triples of the SAME weapon to make the right metal to get that hat. This brings me to my point: All the "Smelt ________ Weapons" blueprints should be condensed into a single "Smelt Weapons" blueprint. In other words, any 3 weapons should be able to make metal. It takes long enough to get random items as is, so it's only adding insult to injury that we currently have to wait for an EXACT weapon to make metal. I feel that the time it takes to get all those weapons is enough time to merit a hat and we shouldn't have to jump through an additional hoop of making sure it's the RIGHT weapon. TL;DR version, read just after my point
I concur.
Agree completely. At this rate, who knows when I'll get that third sandvich.
I think Valve should also add the metals to the drop system if they haven't already. I'd love to find a random reclaimed metal.
I double concur.
Indeed...
I think Valve should also add the metals to the drop system if they haven't already. I'd love to find a random reclaimed metal.
I think they already are. A guy in a server I was in found reclaimed metal. Not crafted, like it usually says, but found.
I double concur.
I concur to your concurrent of my concurring, my good sir.
I think they already are. A guy in a server I was in found reclaimed metal. Not crafted, like it usually says, but found.
For me, whenever I create metal, it says I found it.
This would be good.
I sent an email to Robin regarding this idea.
I sent an email to Robin regarding this idea.
I tip my hat to you good sir. :tiphat:
For me, whenever I create metal, it says I found it.
I thought they fixed that?
I sent an email to Robin regarding this idea.
Good luck with getting an answer.
Wheres the bloody trade system, screw this craft shit
Wheres the bloody trade system, screw this craft shit
This, please. But I like your idea, OP.
I think Valve should also add the metals to the drop system if they haven't already. I'd love to find a random reclaimed metal.
And you'd rage about how that guy found a refined metal and you found a sandvich.
If we would only have one "smelt weapons" option then it wouldn't make sense to trade normal weapons anymore. Just wait till we finally have trading.
