• Pyro's Napalm grenades...why can't he use them?

I know, Valve is in total opposition to grenades, but hear me out. Pyro has been tweaked so hard and changed up so much, it seems to me that he's moved down from crowd controller to "Assassin with fire" by using the Degreaser and Axetinguisher. I agree that he would have been scarily overpowered if he had the ability to throw his grenades before he was hit with the nerf stick back in early 2010. I can play Pyro rather well, if I do say so myself, but I feel like setting groups of people on fire now is a death wish, as opposed to before 2010, when a good Pyro could take out a whole group or at least make them hurt badly. A Pyro that's good with the Backburner can now do the same I suppose, but until they implement that 150% airblast cost, it won't be as good as the original flamethrowers. Anyways, what I'm getting at is, I think Pyro should be able to use his Napalm grenades as a secondary weapon, or in addition to his normal weapons, as a way to set groups of enemies on fire / hitting sentry nests from a somewhat secure distance (This would make Southern Hospitality equipped engies actually think twice about using that weapon). To be balanced IMO, it should ONLY do afterburn though, and not have any explosion damage. I know I'll get a lot of boxes and disagree ratings, just posting my two cents. Also, Jarate / mad milk are very thinly veiled grenades. If Pyro can't get his grenades, a jar of gasoline would be good, too, and like in Timesplitters, enemies that are on fire should be able to spread fire to people that are coated in Gasoline. That would be hysterical.
Grenade Spam. [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] or in this case, Napalm grenade spam.
Pyro is too stoopid to use them.

No matter how much Valve tends to go back on their old standards and promises, I still don't think they're too fond of the idea of adding automatic weapons and grenades.
Grenade Spam. [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] or in this case, Napalm grenade spam.
But it should recharge. I swear, someone mentions grenades and they instantly think of TFC and Halo.
Another quality thread by MrCasual.
Why not just make a Flare Gun that has an explosive projectile that spreads flame over the explosion area but the flames don't last very long?
Hats
It only takes away from the gameplay if you're an elitist prick
Because he think's that they're pez dispensers
Maybe they're left as a testament to TFC, people complain that there aren't any grenades in tf2; well, these people are obviously blinder than bats!

They just didn't remove them coz they look cool.
Aren't they smoke grenades?
Um.. Am I the only one who.. Jarate = Crit Grenades?
I have an appendix, why can't I use it.
i suggested something like this in advanced Weaponiser... nobody liked it :(
Seriously, there is some kind of stigma against grenades, yet jarate and mad milk are in. Mad milk might as well be a reskinned Holy Hand grenade based on what it does. And Medic was supposed to get a health grenade before the game came out. But for TF2, I can picture Pyro getting a glass jar filled with Gasoline as a throwable weapon or something.
Grenades would be just weird in TF2.
Yeah it could work but we have the Flare Gun and the Detonator instead, they'd rather fill the same role except the Grenade would have a larger radius and less distance. The Soldier can't really use his grenades either, and the Demoman/Sniper/Heavy certainly don't use the spare ammunition situated around their bodies when they run out of ammo. It's just one of those things.
The Detonator I guess could do what I'd want it to, but does anyone else find that weapon incredibly hard to use for its intended purpose? And it seems like a lot of people use it for flarejumping anyway, and that seems hard as hell, too.
TF2 already has enough grenades flying out of that drunkard's ass. We don't need the other classes to have their own.
flare gun

http://sparkwire.thanez.net/tf2/psychoticfugue/ a very bad animation but i think it is what you want.
