I just extracted gamestartup10 from the gcf to put it in a video, listened to it and noticed it starts with the noise of a running train and an harmonica, which I've never heard, not even when it was playing in the game menu. Is this just me freaking out or what?

The start of the song doesn't sound as shit due to damn harmonica.
Plus they had to change it due to copyright issues which they thought wouldn't appear but apparently did.

Also, a little Easter egg here. The old one's album name was More Gun, but the new one is called Pistol Valve.
Uh Valve could've gotten sued since it's not originally their song, and they put it in something you have to purchase.
It's not like Valve changed it to annoy you, just download a mod version to replace the new one.

I love how the original song fits to valve's usage of it.

Yeah, the harmonica they added was terrible. As I said, I completely doubt Mike Morasky had any part in the harmonica bit.
If it was copyrighted, how come they could use it in Meet the Engineer?
I never got why everyone hates the harmonica bit so much. I like it. It certainly changes the mood of the song, but it's not a bad change.

Because Meet the Engineer is a free video. TF2 is a paid game. It's the same reason why their Dirty Harry sound-a-like from Meet the Sniper can't be put into TF2. Although they could certainly just email the song to somebody for free...

EDIT: wait, no, we're both going crazy. The harmonica just isn't as terrible as I remember it.
Hmm I replaced my engineer theme a long time ago but have yet to hear it at the startup.
