I was fooling around in TR_Walkway with the Eyelander today, when I wondered why weapons like the Kukri or Fireaxe don't have dismemberment like the sword. So, I thought, just to spice it up, Critical hits should have extra death animations.
Backstabs and Headshots already have these, so these would function the same. 25% chance so it doesn't get redundant.
Fire Critical - Burn into a pile of ash.
Melee Crit, Sharp( Axe, Kukri, Bonesaw) - Dismemberent. A gib flys out.
Melee Crit, Blunt(Bat, Fists,Wrench)
- Head squishes down like in the Frontier Justice's Taunt Kill.
Killed while Ubercharge ready - Medipack explodes.
Headshot (Alternate) - Head explodes like meet the spy.
Backstab (Alternate)
Pyro's Gas Tank explodes, gibbing him, and making a time bomb.
(It's not easy to back stab a Pyro anyway.)
Soldier - He falls to the ground, tries to push up, but succumbs and falls dead.
Good Idea facepunch?
Projectile crits should also be turned into giant middle fingers whilst in flight.
All good ideas, all almost impossible to implement.
Think of the variables, what if the soldier gets backstabbed in mid-air, or off a ledge like in the 2fort sniperments.
All good except blunt melee weapons, that's stupid.
Thats a pretty good idea.
Crit punches should force the opponent to fly up in the air with 1hp while stunned for FALL DAMMIJ
Crit rockets should make you make an anguished and angry pose before gibbing.
I think a crit punch should cave your face in if it kills
I would rate you light bulb.
There should be a weapon that turns enemies to gold when you kill them, and has the special ability to cause massive drama and get people VAC banned!
Shiv or S.H Bleedout needs a custom death, like you don't just go "erk" and fall over.
You slowly fall to the ground.
Or fall to one knee and then slump over onto the ground.

You should lean backwards, do a deathscream, then slump forward onto your knees before quickly ragdolling.

Crockets should cause the killed enemy to yell out a big censor BEEP before exploding.
Crit fists death should make the corpse look like Popeye
I like the idea of Pyro sometimes exploding when you "backstab his tank".
As long as this would be a purely viual thing without causing explosive damage to the Spy.
I was thinking different damage types ought to put different decals on the player, like big bruises for bludgeoning weps, big gashes for cutters (and a slightly more bloody gash for bleed inflicting weps), and axtingusher leaves a temporary blazing scar
I would prefer fire-based deaths. When they run out of health while on fire, they play an animation of being burned to death. Waving their hands around trying to put the fire out.

This, but they fall to the ground, crawling a few metres and dies.
If the fire made you run like you were bonked or anything, Pyros would be pretty OP.
Would be fun if you backstabbed the pyro his tank would cause him shoot off into the distance like some backstabs did to me. And then explode.

Yes, THIS is a must-implement idea. It was awesome in Tribes: Vengeance, it was awesome in Rogue Trooper, and it would be TOTALLY RAD in Team Fortress 2.
Getting a nonfatal headshot on an enemy should knock off their hat. Also, bleeding kills should make them do the headshot animation. For animations like Pyro's, it'd be that it slipped in their own blood.

Yeah.... I don't think the critical animations would look good with the bleedout :v:

Man, i'd love that idea.
I'd like to see a critical punch from heavy to send enemies flying straight into air, leaving a pair of shoes with socks in them on a ground.
Maybe their neck could stretch for half a second and then go back to normal, althought it would be funny to see some poor guys head bobbing around as if it was attached to spring :v:
