Has anyone tried importing/making models from TFC into TF2?

Well, I've just been thinking that since the Team Fortress Classic mercs are canon, someone should make models for them. Has anyone tried?
But why?
It is possible, because they are very closely linked engines. In fact, porting models was how HL: Source was made.

But it would be frustrating to no end, because skeletons in both models are different, you need to recreate bodygroups... and all of this will work on community servers only, thanks to sv_pure.
So, essentialy, this is pointless.
at this point, it would be better to make full tf2-styled overhauls for them all.
Someone was doing a TFC spy a while ago, besides that there hasn't been much of a interest in doing so. at least not on FP.
however, since the TF2C generic merc is out, someone could use him as a base to build the TFC2 cast since they were all rather similar in terms of body shape.
I remember someone trying to import TFC models into TF2, and it was near impossible, so they gave up immediately. If importing TFC into TF2 is impossible, could Fortress Forever possibly work?

That wouldn't be bad at all. I'd like that.

Didn't one of the TF2C guys mention remaking the TFC models for the mod? I remember the idea being thrown around, but it might've been during a game and not posted here

I'd have a heart attack if that'd happen. It'd probably take like around 4 months just to make one, though. Maybe longer.
