Recently my TF2 crashes (HL2.exe has stopped working) every time i try checking my backpack. It seems to do that for everything that checks backpack including trading and crafting. Please help :(

You tried restarting steam and verifiying the Game cache?
Have you installed any mods lately?
Usually that causes it, if you have an item mod that is borked.
You might have two items in the same position, that happens occasionally when you get a drop during a laggy Steam moment of some kind. Check your cache and see if that helps.
Check the scripts, my tf2 crashed lot of times while checking the backpack due to bad scripting.
I've restarted Steam and verified my game cache at least 3 times, nothing yet. Trying to see if it was some skins i installed.

Do you think this scripting might have something to do with the stuttering that Wormy described it happens to me too. If yes how do we fix it?
well, you can remove all the script and then add one and try if it crashes, and repeat until you find the corrupted one.
