IT’S HERE!! The thing that you all have dreamed for so long: the Facepunch section exclusive to discuss about the TF2 Mann VS Machine gamemode! Let’s talk, argue and discuss about anything related to it! Some suggestions of what this thread is made for: - Discussing the MvM metagame; - Talking about the classes’ roles in MvM; - Suggesting or teaching strategies and loadouts; - Talking about the MvM community; - Discussing about Bootcamp and Mann Up; - Suggesting buffs, nerfs, reworks to classes and weapons; - Suggesting new upgrades, upgrades rework or achievements; - Telling us what new kind of maps you want to see in MvM; - Giving Gray Mann some new ideas of robots to build; - Telling everyone dark gameplay secrets almost no one knows about; - Discussing about specific missions, tours, waves or robots; - Discussing, arguing, complaining or bragging about anything else related to the gamemode! Something you should post on other already existing threads: Custom Mission Megathread (download and play new community-made MvM missions) Manning Up Megathread (make a team to beat these damn tours here)
Wave 666 should have robot versions of Merasmus, The HHHH, and Monoculus.
I think you should have an upgrade for the Fan O War that allows you to mark multiple emenies for death or increase the duration of the mark for death
I think classes that aren't demoman and spy should have more melee upgrades.
the new empire escalation is so boooring, i swear. Why people hate challenging missions idk.
So the Charge n' Targe resistance doesn't stack up with the resistance upgrade? I've tried it on my last game and it didn't work. Also, does people even use the Spy anymore? Reason being they start complaining before they get to use him.
I played with a spy that kicked ass pretty badly. I am sure he often gets the typical "change or kick" treatment because people think you literally can't win without heavy+demo+medic+soldier+engie+scout/another dps class
I think the Two City tour should give better rewards. (complete a tour, get a specialized, normal or professional kit and a random botkiller with a medic head) i just don't find the rewards of two city appealing since you need to grind to complete it. EDIT: wolf, we know you're lurking in this thread. your cover has been blown.

old outdated bad list
might aswell post this here. I posted this on SPUD but threads whining about bad players were apparently alot more popular. don't bother rating. too much stuff at once.
This is beautiful.
You, sir, deserve a medal from Saxton hale himself
What is everyone's favourite canteen anyway? I personally use the Recall as my go-to canteen (because I get myself in messes very often, and it's nice to just TP out to spawn + speed boost + health back). - Crit canteen [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/img] - Uber canteen - Ammo refill canteen - Recall canteen - Instant build canteen - Impartial - Whatever's best for the wave (I'll admit you do end up wasting money with this though)

I use High Five since that's what Valve taught me to do in the MVM instruction video.
-snip-
Well, I beat EE, but god forbid I get people who actually know how to play for the easier one. No really, every time I get matched up with people who are brand new.
If I'm Engineer, Upgrade Buildings is essential. If I'm anyone else, I'd rather be able to high five.
Do you guys think its better to use degeaser + axtinguisher to be more of a giant killer while still having all the utility of airblast? I think it can work very well if you upgrade axtinguishers swing speed, and it can contribute a lot of damage. I don't know how much damage that'll do vs an upgraded flamethrower though, but its just a theory. It basically turns you into a pseudo demoknight, all those damage upgrade money can go into resistances to give you the resistance of a demoknight.
Empire Escalation is so boring now that I can't believe it. The Bonk Scouts on wave 5 were the only thing that I felt was a better change, since initially they were damn near impossible to kill with a very little recharge time on their Bonk. Everything else... just made the mission way too easy.
Anyone ever have problems using the number keys to select weapons in MvM? Lots of times as engy I have to scroll through my weapons using the mouse wheel to select anything.
Anyone ever have problems using the number keys to select weapons in MvM? why does the matchmaking die so much. I just want to play the tour and get shitty drops and never play again
why does the matchmaking die so much. Does anyone else specifically avoid playing MvM on the weekends? Maybe it's just me, but I swear it seems like every asshole on the planet comes out of the woodwork around this time.
Does anyone else specifically avoid playing MvM on the weekends? (School's out obviously)
Axtinguisher does 390 damage per second when it is full upgraded. A flamethrower does 308 damage per second fully upgraded. It takes 1600 dollars to fully upgrade a flamethrower's damage, while it only costs 800 dollars to upgrade the axtinguishers firing speed to full. You get MORE damage at HALF the price. The only downside is that its shit against tanks. But on Manhatten, there are no tanks. The BIG upside to the axtinguisher is that it's FAR more reliable than the flamethrower at dealing damage. To achieve said full 308 DPS with the flamethrower, you have to be right up next to the giant anyway. Farther away from the giant, it only deals a measly 182 damage per second (Again, fully upgraded.) At So with the axtinguisher and degreaser, you can have the utility of airblast on your team while still having a decent amount of damage output. Now you can spend your money on resistances because the only upgrades you need are ammo capacity (hell, even just 1 point in it will do) airblast force, heatlh on kill and swing speed.

Not to mention resistances are undoubtedly useful no matter the class.
They should put the intermediate two cities missions into the operation oil spill tour. Or just make another intermediate tour.
