Hello everybody,
Introducing The Highlander Open #2, an introduction for non-competitive players into the comp scene or for those wanting to get into league-style competitive TF2 in a simple manner sponsored by Essentials.tf & Whitelist.tf.
And what exactly is this, we hear you ask? Well check out our fantastic and visually pleasing Highlander Open Page! It contains all the basics about what exactly the Highlander format is, and essential (light) reading for all who want to get involved.
This tournament is meant for people who are new to competitive play, a competition to find the very best pub team essentially. People with prior experience within competitive will potentially get set to only be allowed as a buddy. Buddy's can play medic for teams or just be there as a mentor/ to help with organization. More info on this can be found in the Highlander Open FAQ .
If you are a lone player wanting to get into a team or if you want to get more players for your own team, check out the Recruitment Section. If you are a team looking to get a buddy, load up the forum and ask away.
Buddies are more experienced players with both ETF2L as wel as competitive TF2. These players can help you manage your team as well as mentor your team. These players are allowed to play but only as medic. So if you're looking at getting a team going and want somebody with experience then buddies is the way to go!

I'm tempted to join, but i have no team.
If you want to look for a team you can either make a recruitment post through you dashboard on ETF2L or leave a comment on the Players looking for team Thread . If you're up to the task you can also make a team with people who previously commented on that thread or already made a recruitment post.
I am too new to HL, does "weeks" mean that each 2 teams are given a day to fight then their week ends just with that game or will each team fight every day of the week? Sorry if I didn't explain it good.

Each week consists of 1 match that automatically gets made and scheduled by the website. If both teams agree to change the date they can still do this within the time period of the week.
