• Raising FPS

I'm using a high FPS config; TF2 looks like a nintendo 64 game. I have my antivirus off (whenever I'm playing). I'm also playing at a rather slow resolution. Drops to about 10fps whenever I get near battle, let alone look at battle. What else can I do besides make it look any worse then it already is? :frown:
Well basically if you have all that and only get 10fps in battle you should just research getting a new computer.
Computer specs?
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20GHz 4GB of RAM Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family @ 1.7gb of Video RAM, 3D Supported, Pixel Shader 4.0 (I know it's bad, but..)
intergrated graphics are not going to get you very far here..have you considered upgrading to a dedicated gpu?
Just get hd4850 and you will have decent gaming pc for one or two more years
Laptop. :sigh: And I can't afford a new computer considering we can barely afford our house
I have the exact same laptop and i can run TF2 on Directx 8 with 40FPS, in battle 30FPS. Try installing Windows XP, you'll get a boost of at least 15FPS. Windows 7 on a laptop and gaming does not go well together.
I run the game at 60 fps constant with a supah kewl graphics config :smug:
I run the game at 60 fps constant with a supah kewl graphocs config :smug:
You could help the guy and share the config, not just brag here.
It's not an fps config, it's quite the very opposite, i was just waving my e-penis infront of his face.
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1149207 Go here. [editline]11:28AM[/editline] Especially remove particles. They are what's causing your fps to plummet during battle.
Thanks :buddy: I don't get a great FPS still, but it's definitely different.
Try turning down the screen resolution if you already haven't done that.
i'm maxing all i can Models: High Textures: Ultra high (mat_picmip -10) Shader Detail: High Water Quality: Reflect all Shadow Quality: High Antialiasing: MSAA x4 Filtering: Anisotropic x16 Motion Blur: On HDR: Full Multicore Rendering: On Aspect ratio and resolution: 16:9 1920x1080. Fucking FULL HD. On a Radeon 3450. Suck my 2 fps. Just kidding, i built a new computer with some parts from this packet PC, now boasting a 4670. Awesome 55 fps in battle, 40 in super-intense battle.
Antialiasing: MSAA x4
scrub, pros use x16 AA
scrub, pros use x16 AA
4x AA looks exactly the fucking same as 8, and 16x. I don't see the reason to turn it up any higher. Especially with 4MSAA, or whatever, QSAA, I dunno been playing too much apb.
16x looks a lot smoother than 4x, although there's not a big difference between 8x and 16x. I use 16x to make my e-peen larger. [editline]12:27AM[/editline]
200 FPS single core PC
:byodood: how the fuck

Cause i have vostro 1520 almost same specs, only T6670 and almost maxed.
Sony Vaio VGM-NW24OF
If you can, dual boot Windows XP and try it there. As i said, you'll get a boost of 15FPS at least. Edit: @Sie-Sveinhund, are you serious or are you trolling? 200FPS on 9800GTX with HWM models is not possible.
Disable windows aero, if you haven't already.
If you can, dual boot Windows XP and try it there. As i said, you'll get a boost of 15FPS at least.
Lies and slander. I've tried dualbooting XP with Windows 7 to see if performance would improve, and there was essentially no difference.
It would be much easier if you would just get a better computer.
Money doesn't grow on trees.
Your processor should run tf2 fine, its the fact your running integrated graphics. I ran tf2 on a 1.6ghz dual core for a while with 8800gtx and i had no problems. Now i'm using my i7 930 :smug:
I have a HD 4850 1GB, :iia:, I don't know if there is a Laptop version or something, it costs 100 Euros, here atleast.
