Lately, I've been wondering about what you guys think your most valuable item is.
Not necessarily in terms of actual market value, but in sentimental value.
Whether it was your first hat drop, gifted by your friend, unboxed it, whatever, just what you think that makes it special to you.
I'll start off with my Rocket Launcher that made me ask the question:

One of my favorite skins out of all the collections. It may not be Factory New, but I'm fine with anything Field-Tested or above.
This is actually a Strange Freelance grade weapon and they're quite rare. The ones I've seen on the market were around 6 keys, so not exactly cheap.
Luckily, I happened to snag this one on an auction for less than 2 keys. Pretty sweet find, if you ask me :dance:
Self-Made and Community items are kinda cheating in that regard, so I'll do the next one in line.
I have a Strange Chargin' Targe that I've had since they were first released, and I had naturally gotten the kill count to be rather high through sheer force of will. It was in the top 5 for kill counts (not including farmed ones) up until they decided to make it so the strange would count all kills while it's active rather than exclusively the charge impacts back during the Invasion update. Now the number is entirely meaningless but at least charge impacts are more consistent to get (which is both a blessing and a curse if it winds up getting the kill when you actually wanted their head) and bash & slash is fixed, so there's some silver lining to it.

I had a max head at one point but got sharked like an idiot, and a BMOC when they were 50 keys and the economy was driven by that stupid spreadsheet... but I sold all my stuff to buy steam games that I've never even played :why:
had a steamsupport-granted mannup ticket at somepoint but since there's no way to prevent consumption i eventually lost it :v:

This hat will always have a special place in my heart because it was one of my first crafted hats (if not my very first, I can't remember), and at the time it was one that was very high on my wish list. It's still one of my favorites in terms of appearance. (If only there were more things that went with it. :c)

Actual value-wise it'd probably be one of my strange festives or that PDA I got a while ago, although I'm probably going to sell those sometime to fuel my addiction to Dota 2 treasures.
Sentimental value, though, it'd be either my Vintage Lo-Fi Longwave (those things were cool a few years ago, right?) or my Genuine Pip-Boy.
I didn't get it from pre-ordering Fallout, though; one of my friends gave it to me after we finished up our first season as a 6s team. He thanked me for introducing him to the competitive side of the game and thought that, in his words, "leaders deserve gifts". It's pretty cheesy to be honest, but I can't imagine ever selling it. It's an item that's only like 2 bucks on the market, but it represents the good times that I had when I still played the game.

At one point I had the entire collection of Australium weapons outside of the Pan (some of them Professional on top of that) as well as 6 unusual top hats. I sold the lot of them right after the Meet Your Match update happened because 1. TF2 sort of died for me due to the update and 2. I needed the money for a college loan.
Always gonna keep it. It was my dream unusual for a long while.

Only thing I can think of to make it better is for an unusual effect to have a circling TF logo ( not the TF2 logo for hats ) that goes around the barrel of the launcher.

If there was a replacement for the dead ringer i'd use that, but there isn't so my Strange Dead Ringer.

I resolved that the only unusual I would ever wear in TF2 would be the one I earned. Thanks to Square's assistance, the helpful feedback of FP veterans and the community, I achieved that aim.
