Come discuss about the customization of yours hats, miscs and weapons with Name tag, Description tag or Paint and which combination of those will make you the owner of the most beautiful set of TF2. Using a Name Tag with an item that has already been given a custom name will rename the item. Name Tags are consumable items, and may only be used once. A named item can be reverted to its original state by selecting the item in the backpack and pressing the 'Restore' button. Restoring an item will remove all customization from it, including custom names, descriptions, and paint. Restoring an item to its original state will not refund the Name Tag. Description Tags ($0.99 / £0.59 / 0.74€) Using this tool in conjunction with an item in the backpack allows the player to bestow a customized description of 80 or less characters. Doing so will consume the Description Tag and remove it from the player's backpack. Items with custom descriptions can be reverted to their original state only if they have also had a Name Tag used on them. This can be done in the backpack by clicking on the item in question and then clicking the Restore button. In doing so, however, the Description Tag will not be returned to the player. Decal Tool ($4.99 / £3.49 / 3.74€) The Decal Tool can be used to spray a custom texture (or 'decal') on enabled items. Purchasing any item that the Decal Tool can be used on from the Mann Co. Store will also give players one free Decal Tool. Strange Part (Varied Price) Strange Parts are exclusive tools that are only obtainable via crates, with the exception of the Full Moon Kills, Halloween Kills, and Robots Destroyed During Halloween parts which can be found as a random drop. Strange Parts can only be used on Strange weapons. They allow players to track additional statistics such as number of headshot kills or buildings destroyed. Up to three Strange Parts can be applied onto one Strange weapon. Certain Strange Parts cannot be used on certain weapons; for example, the Headshot tool cannot be used on a Strange Wrench. When applied, it will not count any previous stats. Strange Parts can be individually removed from a weapon using the Restore button in the backpack, allowing the player to remove a strange part of their choosing; however, a part which has been removed will not be returned to the player, and instead will be permanently lost. Strange Filter ($0.99 / £0.59 / 0.74€) Strange Filters are exclusive tools that are obtainable from the Mann Co. Store. Strange Filters can only be used on Strange weapons. Adding a Strange Filter to a weapon restricts the tracking of a statistic to a certain map, and adds an extra prefix to the weapon depending on which map the Strange Filter was for. All revenue from purchasing a Strange Filter, minus net taxes, is given to the map contributor.
Woo, new thread. Also, i am still wondering why i named my Alien Swarm Parasite "Skrillex". I shouldn't name items when i'm bored.
I have a name tag and description tag but dont know if I should use it on a weapon or hat. What do you guys name more often?
Woo, new thread. Also, i am still wondering why i named my Alien Swarm Parasite "Skrillex". I shouldn't name items when i'm bored.
I once named my Strange Rainblower "anime n weed all u need" after I hadn't slept for three days. This was shortly after the update which announced item renames in the text chat as well so the entire Valve server started wigging out about me wasting the name tag.
My strange black box is called the orange box. I like to think I'm funny.
My strange black box is called the orange box. I like to think I'm funny.
I have a Bat named bwatbwatbwat and i still chuckle to it occasionally.
I'm thinking of naming something with my name tag that I found. My name is Big Boss, so maybe name my Balloonicorn something, like Kaz, or EVA, or Snake. Or I could change my name to Phoenix Wright and name it Mia Fey. (it's because they're both round and bouncy)
So tempted to name a minigun "Deflector". But I'm never too sure what to name.
On my Homewrecker currently I've got Sappers Removed and Buildings Destroyed What should I have as the third part? I'm thinking either: Dominations Engineers Killed Underwater Kills Low-health kills

I've got a Strange FaN. I renamed it to "The Sportsman's Skeet Shooter" and added an Airborne Enemies Killed strange part to it. It's pretty great.

Is it possible to put the Headshot Kills part on flamethrowers? Because putting a Headshot Kills and an Underwater Kills part on a flamethrower and then getting someone to let you reflect a couple huntsman arrows underwater would result in a pretty boss item.

[sp]Call me late to the party, but holy shit, it's official; name tags cost more than hats themselves.[/sp]
