I think companies are just taking advantage of Valve's willingness to put promo items in Tf2 for free.
Alright the fucking promos are getting out of hand valve.
Whenever a promo item comes out don't buy the game, the promo items are working, if they don't work why would any company want to put promo items in.

I wouldn't be surprised if Valve was advertising it as a selling point of putting games on Steam at this point.
It's not really Valve's fault for all the promos. Let's say a company wants a promo for TF2. They ask Valve. What is Valve supposed to say? "No, screw you!" because some people on a forum don't like how they look?

Everyone needs to seriously stop complaining about the promos. Just get over it, Valve isn't gonna stop just because people don't like them. There are a few people that actually enjoy the promo items, and not just because they can trade them for lots of unsuals and stuff.
I think Valve is actually being nice with the promos. They're helping other game companies get sales.

Ah I see. I often edit those fields myself in the items_game.txt file. Makes my halloween items always visible (on my server only unfortunately) and no more hats falling off.
