Do you like vanilla ? I personally think TF2 is way better with vanilla, the game is way more stable (And the way of weapon power and such) How do you guys think about this ?
Vanilla The one truly balanced (I think) mode
I like chocolate better than vanilla.
I enjoy chocolate way better than vanilla really. There's so many different weapons to choose from and the standard equipment gets boring fast tbh.
Both. I want there to be a vanilla cvar akin to medieval. Just one 0 turned into 1 and boom, instant vanilla. Then all those elitists whining about the new items can go fuck themselves and play on those servers exclusively since they love it so much. /endofrant
I think vanilla is boring because you have to use the same weapons, over and over and over. If they never added weapons, you guys would beg for something different. With chocolate, you get more possibilites, more items, and more fun.
I like chocolate more than vanilla. Its good to have some choice on the equipment and weapons.

I'd love to see some dedicated vanilla servers that (hopefully) function without third-party mods.
Vaniila. I get tired of all the new weapons. I like the old ones but there's no mode that implements just the original weps. If they added a mode I would be very happy at Valve.
Both are nice.
Chocolate, though I'd like to try Vanilla. I started playing around the Medic update, so I know what the game is like without unlocks.
By the way, chocolate ice cream is way better than vanilla.
I'd love to see a chocolate without ~accessories~ everywhere. Just make the game think everyone has the set hats on, without. Bam, varied game with the taste of chocolate, and more of a look of vanilla. I'm not saying hats break the game or anything, it just strains my eyes to see hot-pink massive hats taking up 20% of the player's outline.
I'd much prefer that Team Fortress 2 stayed the same way. However, I did learn to adapt to everything. I guess you really can't please everyone, and Valve really can't start all over again.

Example of hats that fit: Trophy Belt, Yellow belt kinda, Otolaryngologist's Mirror, Soldiers Stash, Ushanka etc. Example of hats that are so horribly bad they should be burned: Max head, HOUWAR, handymans handle, any hat painted lime or pink, Doctor's Sack etc.
By the way, chocolate ice cream is way better than vanilla.
twist is the best
I'm my opinion back when TF2 was vanilla everyone focused a lot more on the actual game and teamwork, at least that's what I remember. It was also much clearer what you were up against when you met any class. They had their fixed set of advantaged and disadvantages so you could actually have special tactics against different classes. Now everyone has all kinds of different weapons so it's impossible to do that. Each class have just become too much. I am however all for new gamemodes, new maps and so on. Medieval gamemode for example was great when I first tried it out.
Folstream indeed, you know the first round ever when I played engineer, my sentry was upgraded to lvl3 by other engineers. I had hardly even played the game, and the first thing I learned about engineer was pure teamplay especially with other engineers and the buildings. Though you said "Each class have just become too much." Well yeah each class can be much, but they can't be too much at the same time. So.. altering the mechanics and roles of the classes through items is fun definitely So.. I don't know, not even sure what vanilla means just stock weapons? There's plenty of great stuff in at least the class updates.
i honestly like playing with the vanilla weapons. they just do what they're supposed to do: hurt. simple and efficient, and besides they usually look better than the unlocks
i honestly like playing with the vanilla weapons. they just do what they're supposed to do: hurt. simple and efficient, and besides they usually look better than the unlocks
Yeah I use many of the stock weapons myself too but shit like the gunslinger, huntsman, flaregun, homewrecker, sandvich, piss, even the caber, etc.. plain damn fun weapons, more stuff like that! :v:
No vanilla = no vitasaw. but no vanilla = no black box or backburner. So I'm torn.
I prefer chocolate. God damn these are wierd terms.
Ubersaw is where it's at, an example where a nametag is not needed. Another example is Blutsauger. v:v:v

I don't play CSS, so... I can't say I know that feeling.
Scout is MUCH more fun to play in a vanilla only server.
What's the point, I still get to taunt people with my hats.
I've never seen chocolate used as a term for "non-vanilla" before
Scout is MUCH more fun to play in a vanilla only server.
Agreed, Scout also becomes drastically more powerful the less players there are.
