• GRID - Is it worth buying?

I've heard a lot of mixed reports about this game, and since it's £7.50 on steam, I'm wondering whether it's worth getting. How long is it? Does it have good replayability? What's the multiplayer like?
I was just wondering myself. I don't usually play racing games but grid looks nice and I'm a sucker for 50% off deals
Yea, it's quite awesome, I think it would be better with a controller though. Just a quick summary by me: Best racing game, multiplayer is awesome, the game is perfectly optimized, replayablity is... On a racing game, seriously? The game's only cons are the lack of tuning and the bloom. But mods can fix the bloom. Don't take me as a fanboy or something, but the game is worth every singe dollar spent on it. And I do mean it.
Excellent game, you should buy it. The car destruction rivals burnout (loljk, but it's pretty gnarly.)
I love this game. With a controller it's funner than hell.
This is definitely one of my favourite games over-all. Also, demo derby is good for lans.
It's a good game but I wish it had more cars.
Well it's like every other racing game, drive perfectly, no enemy in sight and slightly touch a wall. BOOM from first to about 5th. That's what I hate about racing games and this is no exception. The Computer drives perfectly and one may not make any mistake. The handling of the cars is pretty awesome though.
It's only 9.99 this weekend on steam, going to buy it tomorrow probably

I've watched the NPC cars crash right in front of me, without me interacting with them in any way.
I keep trying to play this with my wheel and it's just so fucking terrible. It's practically designed for only a controller.

I was drafting a guy for about along a straight and on the corner he was very late braking, i braked slightly earlier and he spun out and wrecked his car and i went on to win. The NPC's on GRiD are awesome at driving, but they fuck up aswell.
Yes.
Absolutely fantastic game.
Its definitly worth it if you have a controller. If you stick in an xbox controller it auto-sets up the buttons for the same as the xbox version so its all good.
Worth it, but best if you have a controller.
I beat the whole game on savage difficulty with my keyboard, not problems at all with they keys. [editline]07:25PM[/editline] Also in first person view.
It's pretty fun, I used to play a heap of online freestyle drifting on the yokohama (or whatever it is) circuit. Getting 30x combos and racking up 30-40 million points in 5 minutes is so satisfying.
the damage is just a glitchy mess and it looks retarded the physics suck the graphics are bloomed up the ass don't buy it

Oh, wait, your series doesn't even have damage modelling. Because slamming into a wall at 200 MPH and having your car come to a near-dead stop with no damage whatsoever is completely realistic. Oh yeah, the fact you can win every race by just tuning up your car to outperform everything else makes things all the better, doesn't it? Also: I wasn't aware of the deal. Thank you OP.
I prefer to play this game with a keyboard over a controller.
I'm wondering whether it's worth getting.I say go for it. How long is it?Good length. Took me about 3 or so weeks to beat completely. Does it have good replayability?Yes What's the multiplayer like?Good. Haven't seen any assholes on it or retarded children. So I'd say it's fine.
There.
have you ever driven a real car/played a racing game other than NFS
yes, I have a driver's license, a pretty fast car, and play live for speed, which has the best physics of any racing sim NFS and GRID are very similar in their kid-friendlyness and complete lack of difficulty or learning curve GRID is not a sim, it's a stupid kiddy arcade game [editline]08:03PM[/editline]
'Scuse us, Mr. Gran Turismo. Alright, seems a pretty good game to buy. Thanks for the input. [editline]10:25AM[/editline] I bought it. £7.50 was just too good to pass up. I could buy food for that much money.

uhh yeah since when do games have to be realistic to be fun?
"Jesus christ, fucking easy to play games! In my day, you had to have 9 limbs just to go forwards! 4 directions, 6 pedals!"
