My computer went bad about three months ago and Im just now getting a new one. Im currently downloading WoW and I would like to know how all the changes have affected everything and if it will be a world apart from what I last played.
Also Im planning on starting a Orc Shaman and using my undead warlock to fund him until I can just delete him. My undead locks prefession was Jewel crafting but it seemed the market was flooded with jewel crafters and was begining to not be profitable. What are some good proffesions that dont seem to have the market flooded. I know this is varys server to server but any tips would be apprecieated.
Why would you delete a max level alt?
It wasent a max level. I cant remember what level he was but it wasent above 30. If I get bored of a charecter I tend to delete them. I like to focus on a single charecter. But he has well over 200 gold in value. While I know that isnt alot it really helps with a lower level charecter to be able not to worry about funding.
I am also interested in this question as I'm yet to pick my profession.
FUCK these updates take forever to download

Isn't that because Blizzard hasn't heard of incremental updates? From what I've heard, Blizzard just make you download all updates in this manner:
1. Download update that alters a file.
2. Download another update that alters said file again.
3. Download ANOTHER update that alters said file.
Rather than downloading the most up-to-date version of the file.
As far as professions, as you know I can only speak for my server, and I can definitely say to avoid Herbalism, Alchemy, Skinning, and Leatherworking. Mining and JC'ing seem to be the best moneymakers, with Inscription a close second.

Well Im glad I didnt go to school today so I could sit here and watch a loading screen.
There is no profession that is really profitable since we are so late in the expansion. Come Cataclysm every profession (except engineering) will be very profitable since there will be a huge demand for crafted items / mats for crafted items.
Generally, if you want to make money while leveling, pick a gathering profession. Gathering professions are good in two ways; there is always a demand for the stuff you make since it's needed to level other professions (those blue level 22 boots you make as tailoring, not very high demand) and it's a relatively pain free way to level your gathering skill (otherwise you have to ride around the world once you are at max level, there are more fun things to do).
As for you question on how the game has changed, well, leveling is now piece of cake since so many lategame abilities have been awarded to lowbies. For example hunters get their pet at level 1 and such.
At level 80, healers are immortal. This will of course change when Cataclysm comes but for now we have infinite mana and the recent resilience change makes us take almost no damage.
For specifics, check mmo-champ.
Ehhhhhh I decided to keep my lock we have been threw to much together. But after playing i noticed I seemed to gain xp way faster. is this due to cata update or somthing or am I imagining it
