Forza for me. The "Other" option also means that they're both equal.
Gran Turismo
Haven't played Forza before but, both.
I'm not going to expect anyone to say 'GT is boring'. It's annoying.
Gran Turismo erry day perkele :v:
Forza
I prefer the 360 controller, so Forza.
Sort of hard to pit against each other. despite being in direct competition they get released with years apart. Personally I prefer GT because of it's depth (admittedly I only saw a tiny piece of Forza at a friends house) and it was also a part of my childhood.

Because it is. I enjoyed it when i was younger, but the series hasn't advanced, it's the same assets with better graphics.
i would actually fall asleep in races.
Since you didn't specify which Forza or Gran Turismo I'll choose Gran Turismo.
Gran Turismo II is awesome. I still remember me and my dad playing it. Good times. :3:
I'm gonna say Gran Turismo.

Same. The cars were quite great, especially SVX and Eunos Cosmo.
Gran Turismo. Always.
Both.
Only if Forza was released on PS3, though :v:
Forza is an amazing game but... I'd take Gran turismo anyday.
If only Gran Turismo was on Xbox 360 also. Then I could make an informed decision.
I have not played a lot of Forza but i really enjoy GT.
I played Forza a few times. Great game. Still prefer GT though.
I've played Forza Motorsport 2 with my friends, I like the way you can customize cars and trade them off. Even though the editor is hard to work with.
Forza.
I never played GT but looks like you'd love both.
Definitely Forza

Gran Turismo all the way, just look at the rain and the driver's view.
Started playing Forza since Gran Turismo died, and i'm liking it.
Probably not getting Gran Turismo 5 though
Forza is always going to be better than GT, so get that.

Not really.
When I play a racing game I want car interiors and realism. While I played the shit out of the Forza I am really excited for GT5
Kind of unfair to compare them; Forza Motorsport 3 came out in October 2009, and Gran Turismo is coming out over a year later in November 2010.
GT5 has way more cars and depth, but Forza 3 has an amazing car painter, and in my opinion better looking graphics; the graphics in GT5 just seem so plain and dull despite their extreme high quality. I prefer Forza's interface over GT5's, and I prefer the Xbox controller for racing over the PS3's controller.
Voted Forza.
For Fun but not as Realistic, Forza.
For Realistic but not as fun, Gran Turismo. (Don't like my racing games to be too realistic)

Gran turismo 5 hasn't come out yet, so it's bound to have bugs. However, Forza 3 has been out for nearly a year and has always had these extreme lag crashes.

You act like your opinion is fact and applies to everyone.
Gran Turismo, I guess. I enjoy playing Forza 3 right now, but I doubt I'll look back on it fondly once GT5 turns up. They've made some small but stupid mistakes which really let it down.
At the beginning, Forza 3 is just garbage. You're not getting your money's worth as long as you're crashing your way to first in 3 laps. But if you stick with it until the races become 7-10 lap sprints and longer, the racing gets much more satisfying, and the AI can finally shine.
They make mistakes, and I'm not talking about mistakes which just look like programming errors. But convincing mistakes, that a human being would make. Outbrake themselves into a corner, bump into each other when 2 wide in bends, all that. If you put pressure on the guy in front, keep looking for places to overtake, make use of his slipstream in the straights, etc. you can even cause them to make a mistake. Again, just like another human would.
It's a shame then that they're so slow. I'm playing on maximum difficulty, in a car pretty much equal to that of my opponents, and find myself disappearing over the horizon ahead of the pack more often than not. Racing isn't particularely exciting in Forza for me, it's more lonely.
They've got cockpits for every single car, but many of them were rushed. The GT500 Skylines don't have a working dashboard, as if you'd forgotten to turn it on when you got in. And due to the narrow field of view in the cockpit view, it's unlikely you'll be able to see your mirrors. It's difficult to defend your position when your situational awareness is limited to what's straight ahead, but after the last paragraph, that mightn't be a problem.
It's got control issues aswell. The steering in Forza is hideously unresponsive. And it's easy to see why when you drive from the cockpit camera. If you push the stick to full right lock, the game slowly turns the steering wheel to the right. It's as though it's trying to artificially make your driving smooth. Fuck off, let me learn to drive smoothly or crash trying.
I also miss the optional qualifying session from Gran Turismo, and putting the gearbox in neutral. After spinning in Forza, I then try to launch in second gear, which isn't very fast. At the start of a race, it dumps the clutch and spins the wheels, rather than give you a smooth, clean start.
Sometimes, the sound system messes up, and your engine note becomes locked for a few seconds. This is annoying when you drive manual, because chances are you use your engine note to judge when to change gear.
Well, here's to hoping GT5 turns out better.
