Bloody Good Time is a first person shooter developed by Outerlight and published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Live Arcade. It was released on 28 October 2010.
The game is a spiritual sequel to The Ship, Outerlight's debut title, with same but improved gameplay and graphics.[1] It features four various game modes (hunt, elimination, revenge and deathmatch). Up to eight players can play in online matches. There is also an arcade mode which allows the player to play against the AI bots. The title utilizes Valve's Source engine.
The game takes place on a Hollywood movie set and it features three different maps: beach, casino and horror house. Players can choose one of the eight available B-movie characters (The Surfer, The Beach babe, The Goth, The Bunny girl, The Showgirl, The Clown, The Gambler and The Stoner) and then kill other players with 21 different weapons, including usual guns and other items, such as frying pan or remote-controlled rats.
Made by Outerlight, most famous for their production on The Ship, Bloody Good Time is a multiplayer first person shooter that revolves around four gamemodes:

in addition to the fame you get for killing people, you can also get bonus fame for boasting, humiliating, or pickpocketing them:

There are only 3 maps so far (hopefully Ubisoft will release the SDK for custom made maps, or at least release some more maps for free), the one in the screenshots is my personal favorite, "Springbreak". The other two maps are a horror house, and a Las Vegas themed casino.
All the characters you can play (minus the middle guy):

this game can be a little confusing to play at first, but one or two games in singleplayer mode should get you used to it. If you were a fan of The Ship, which I know you were, you should DEFINITELY get this game.
i know this is off topic, and i havent seen a the ship thread, but what is The Ship about? is it similar to this? i always hear people talking about the ship along side this game.
I don't know why but from these screenshots I get a vibe like early team fortress 2 gave me.
the screenshots don't do the game justice, the game is too complex to be summed up in a few pictures.
I've considered getting this multiple times. I just don't know though.
Looks like a reskin of the ship with some of the annoying needs removed :V
And going off the fate the ship recieved, i wouldnt hold my breath for this, shame really because i love the concept

Blood Money and Deathmatch are the same gamemodes. Did I miss something?
Blood Money and Deathmatch are the same gamemodes. Did I miss something?
deathmatch is a primary gamemode, blood money is a bonus.
This game is great, worth more than $5 imo.
Dat' walking on glass sound. (4:32)
This looks too much like The Ship to me. Kinda want to get it because no one plays The Ship, any more.

This is the spiritual sequel.
[editline]9th November 2010[/editline]
PS this game is fucking amazing everyone get off your ass and get it.
Never knew this was an actual sequel to The Ship.
The game is great but the ship will always be the best.
if they sold BGT and The Ship in a bundle for like $7 they would make a fuckton of money
So...it's The Ship again?
Screw that.
just gifted this game.
again.
EVERYONE GO BUT ET
The Hunt gamemode is basically The Ship?
I'm going to sound stupid but would someone kindly buy this for me?
I would like to get this but I promised myself no games until after the new year!
I bought it and I don't really like it
I bought it and I don't really like it
Why not?
(Just wondering, as I'm wondering whether to buy it or not)
This looks too much like The Ship to me. Kinda want to get it because no one plays The Ship, any more.
This is the reason I don't want to get it. It won't be long before nobody plays this game either. I would be playing The Ship every day if anyone else was ever online.
Isn't there already a thread for this? I've got the game, it gets boring after a while.
Hurr durr, it's The Ship
Huh, imagine. A game company making a game that is similar to their last one. Shit, that's something I would never consider.
I love this game. It's strangely addictive, and it's surprisingly clever. By the way, Director X is a long haired, dark clothed British film director with a penchant for over-the-top violence and bloodshed. Edgar Wright, anyone?

its still a ship clone with new gizmos
not that thats bad but its true lighten up
I know it's true but people are flaunting about as if it was a taboo that had just been committed. And not one of those half-assed religious taboos that everyone does. I mean like open the gates of hell taboo.
I really want to play this.
