Free Survival Horror type of game?

What I'm looking for is a free survival horror game, like Penumbra or Metro 2033 (even though it isn't really much horror).

I've been itching to play a game that will put me on the edge. So, anybody got any good ones?

I don't think I can run this game. I've tried to run this a long while back, but it just seems incompatible with Vista. I keep getting some error. I'll try again however, thank you.
