Best Free MMORPG? - Games - Facepunch Forum

I have a strange feeling of getting into an RPG, or trying. at one point i really loved them but i lost track and i kinda want a feel for one. But i have NO IDEA which one to get, I've looked at a bunch of them but their are a shit load of Free Rpgs out there, it's staggering. So Facepunch help, what in your opinion is the best free RPG. Personally i would love one with a big fan base and a lot of players.

My first mmorpg was Kal Online. It's free. It's the kind of game where you log in, kill tons of shit and log out. Theres skill trees and what not, but it's really fun. That said, all free mmorpgs are bad. Theres a few that stand out like Silkroad Online (It has tons of bots though), Cabal Online (Great PvP), Guild Wars (Your best bet), Runes of Magic (Has HOUSES!) and Dragonica (Platformer)

play maplestory :V JUST KIDDING as far as i know, the best totally MMO was 9 dragons by acclaim, graphics are nice, animations are smooth and the gameplay is decent, kinda hard to decide what class you wanna be though and has kind of a steep learning curve. [url]http://9dragons.acclaim.com/[/url]

Fly for Fun. lol P.S I actually did play this and found it fun or about 4 days, then I moved on. Flying was cool

there are no "free" MMORPG's You always have to pay for currency.

Dungeons & Dragons Online. Although its in closed beta right now, it's free and amazing.

Runes of magic is your best bet. Its WoW for cheap-asses

I agree with FlyFF (Fly for Fun) it's really fucking gay (the environment and characters and stuff) but yeah it's fun otherwise, I played it for a while and I loved the buff system, I had like, a b something.. i know the initials were BM and I'm too lazy to look it up, anyways, try it if you want, fun game.

Cabal Online for epic PVP. Dungeons and Dragons Online for good environment and PvE.

Anarchy Online.

Knights Online If you want to pvp for every second for the rest of your life.

Archlord. Not THAT great but at least it's free to play.

2moons is quite good, but gets grindy. Also npcs sound very, naughty...

I'm looking for one that doesn't have an Anime feel, and also has a lot of players.

well so far it's looking like Runes Of Magic, just getting mixed reviews about the game.

Also try RYL 2: incomplete union I remember there were guild forts and stuff when you had money and all kinds of vehicles. Also RYL 1 is a good game but i think it got shut down.

Cabal is worth trying out, it has good PvP and a high level cap, you [I]can[/I] pay for items but those items aren't necesserary and something of similar strength can be found with time.

Definitely Runes of Magic until you realize you have to pay to keep up with PKers.
