My opinion on Modern Warfare 3 vs Battlefield 3 (The Box Edition)

Modern Warfare. Ah, the fresh, smooth game that brought Call of Duty to the top. Modern Warfare 2 was even better. But then to rear its ugly head is Modern Warfare 3. Dear Christ, what the fuck happened? How did the series downgrade after Black Ops? It fucking sucks now. I have seen gameplay, playthroughs of the single player and such, it's all the same stuff that was in Modern Warfare 2. Black Ops at least used a different engine that was a major step up from Modern Warfare 2. But they didn't even put anything new in the game besides some fresh new game modes. Infested is a good one, but you can only play in private match. The other only significant change is their new Survival Mode, in which was to supposedly rival Treyarch's Zombies game mode. I would say it's on par with it, but here's my only nitpick with that, IT IS ONLY TWO PLAYERS. What the fuck Infinity Ward.
Now there is the multiplayer. What the christ did they do with that. Added a few underpowered and overpowered perks and added VERY FEW new weapons, and brought back a variety of weapons from the first Modern Warfare. Now, did they change the hud, did they change the reloading animations or the sprint animations. Just new sprint animations. The same reloading animations that were used in all the Modern Warfares. They didn't even put time and effort into fixing that. They added Theater Mode (Something Black Ops did right), but that is about it. You can't even customized your own emblems. Instead, they used the same shitty emblems they always use in Modern Warfare 1 and 2. You did a great job there Infinity Ward. No wonder why your getting bashed by your fanbase.
And last but not least, the look of the game and the feel. It looks like MW1 except with better shading, and it feels like as if I was playing Mw1. Really, a entire year wasted on a shitty game that has no replay valve not including the multiplayer. Great job Infinity Ward (slow claps).
Now for Battlefield 3. It's your very same Battlefield you had for almost a decade, but they changed up the pace a bit with this one. But let's have a view in Battlefield's history. It's about as old as Call Of Duty, and the first game, Battlefield 1942, was met with positive reactions and was one of the revolutions in the way First Person Shooters are made today. Even today, I still play Battlefield 1942, you'll see me playing on the Moronville servers. Back to Battlefield 3! Now, this is a completely different animal from Call of Duty. You simply can't run around and literally kill everyone with near perfect accuracy. It has a sense of realism, in which, you try to kill someone dead on while they have their friends around, you're shit out of luck. You need to work together as a team to eliminate your enemy and capture the objective. You also get a wide variety of vehicles, from tanks to airplanes, to ships and jeeps, this is a big game changer. It can benefit you and it can fuck you over. For me, the only things I have to pick at this game is sometimes your objective is really far away, some minor glitches, and the singleplayer. Other than that, Battlefield 3 is a game that can easily rival Activision's Call of Duty.
TL;DR Battlefield 3 > Modern Warfare 3

i like cod (not really mw3 but whatever)
i like bf (bf3 sure)
no one cares about your rant about a biased fanboy subject in which the marketers only entice you to debate in... in order to continue discussion of the game and convincing of how a game's better
good job falling to marketing ploys

Both are shitty, overdone, self-proclaimed "realistic" fps' that plague the market and really need to die.
'nuff said.
Bf3 has cars n stuff though I like thingys that move n stuff.

but i like these shitty, overdone, self-proclaimed "realistic" fps' that plague the market and really need to die... :c
That being said though, there IS a reason CoD and BF are the leads in what they do. CoD does the arcadey tactical thing really well, and Battlefield does the large maps and vehicles better than most games I can think of.
To each their own!

It's not that they're terrible, it's that they're overrated and the market is saturated to shit with them.

Lets assume puzzle games replace the hold fps has on gaming. You'll have bejewled, and peggle. These games are different, yes? Devlopers are going to try and cash in this, they will release games that are the "safe" option, in a bid for money. The market will become over saturated with puzzle games and idiots like you will complain.

Making games isn't cheap. It costs hundreds of man hours, and sometimes millions of dollars. Publishers simply won't fund games that are taking a risk, instead they will take the safe option, producing a cod/bf3 clone, e.g, medal of honor. This leads to the industy becoming saturated with the same type of game. Sales drop due to this which forces publishers to take even less risks. Oddly enough though, the only game i've ever seen that tries to emulate the fantasic game that is bioshock is mindjack, and that was beyond terrible, cool idea though, at least it wasn't a blatant rip-off of bioshock...

Tl:dr
Stop being a fucking twelve year old and stop making aussumptions about an idustry you obviously know nothing about.
I would also like to point out Black Ops was made by different developers. So, yeah...
Side Note: This is why games like dustforce, cave story, meat boy and minecraft have been sucessfull. They're all indie titles, free from the crushing grip of a publisher, the artist is free to express (get the reference? Hint: Giant hands). Their freedom to inovate has produced some amazing games, but, i will admit, some abstract failures. Could you say Amnesia: The dark descent would have been the same if someone was constantly watching over, playing it safe for fear of losing his job?
