I know there's a fuck ton of "I wanna make a game" threads on here, but here's the deal
I've got 4 weeks until the end of year assignment for my 'software design' class, we're suppose to finish everything else before then but my class is slow, they're doing 1 project a week and I finished all my projects at the end of third term.
It doesn't matter what sort of game, but I have 4 weeks to program a game in visual basic
At first I thought i'd make a simple rpg, but now I have my doubts about that...
what should I make?
a game in visual basic
I see this failing.
I was gonna give you a few ideas till i seen that
No matter what it shall fail
A RTS set in WW1/2 .
Make a game about my life where you start out fighting your way out of the womb with a combat placenta whilst dodging bent coat hangers
EDIT: Best 1600th post I've ever made
Worst part is it has to be visual basic 5.0 cce
That being said, i've already programmed a working ammo system but not sure if want to make a really simple and shit shooter or make it something more in depth
Wait visual basic? Nevermind.
Make a poker game or something.
make a game where youre a penis monster that has to jizz on other males
Eh ok i'll toss a bone out there
A Green tech RTS
IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING ALREADY CODED - JUST GO WITH THE FLOW
WHAT GAME DO YOU WANT / WOULD PLAY
Make pong. WITH COLOURS!
I hear it isn't too hard in visual basic to make pong
Try a general SHMUP with you the player are controlling a dolphin shooting sonar waves underwater at stationary kelp, expanding sponges and spike-shooting sea urchins.
Make that.
Just make a simple space shooter. It's probably the simplest thing you can do that will still seem somewhat complicated.
you mean like eccho the dolphin?
also I kinda dont want to do space shooter/vertical shooters or whatever, i've made too many of them in other languages before
Sorta, 2-D plane top down so sprite work is easy.
Aliens from the perspective of the Aliens but in Atlantis.
Or Alien vs/meets the Atlantins.
Hentai game is the way to go.
Fuck shit up

There-in lies your problem. Do you want a grade or not? Keep it simple and just go with something easy to make. Add in features if you have time.

he doesn't grade on whether it's complete or not but technique used and the code itself. a more complex project for this will give me better grade even if I do not finish it as it will demonstrate that I have the capability to commit to a project and actually do some RND till I work out how to make things work, that's what the whole class is about
first person platformer with cool powers
and guns
Something with robots
robots are cool
Remake E.T. but make it good
You can never go wrong with making a zombie apocalypse survival MMORPGFPS.
Ok, so that's actually a big project to tackle. Might want to start with something a lot simpler...
just as long as it has zombies in it.
But some game studio should really make the zombie mmo I mentioned above.
A game, where your a sniper but you don't have a sniper, you have the perk commando. :buddy:
Anyways, I agree with The freeman. (3rd post)
Just do fucking eccho the dolphin.
Except eccho's a penis.
In a vagina.
An rpg.
2D Platformer.
Easy.
Or that. :j:
Text-based or menu-based RPG games are possible. Hell, menu-based TBS games are possible (I was working on one, last year, it was pretty cool).
Make a slot machine, only idea i have, maybe you could make several gambling games then make some makeshift casino.
A game where you're an angry 13 year old CoD fan that must fight through line at the midnight launch party for Black Ops before they run out of copies.
A roguelike.
Roguelikes are awesome.
