Well, this is interesting. A Best Buy worker just emailed us two images snapped from their employee news section. One shows that Ubisoft will be unveiling Assassin's Creed III on March 5, and that there'll be pre-order bonuses to be had. Whatever. The other is a shot of what they say is the game's promotional art. Featuring what may well be Assassin's Creed III's star. If this is legitimate, and remember, this is completely unconfirmed, it appears that the chatter placing the third game in the series in the American Revolution is spot-on. In the background is the original Continental flag, the Assassin is wearing an 18th-century military jacket and from his weaponry, jewellery and resemblance to actor Wes Studi he appears to be Native American. Or, since you'd expect he's still part of hero Desmond's bloodline, half-Native American. Especially when you consider that our source tells us that, out of shot, the Assassin is also carrying a tomahawk.
Judge how you will. I think he looks to reminiscent of Ezio, and I also am dissapointed that they didn't go somewhere else with the series. I would've prefferred going to China or Japan or someplace Oriental. America doesn't sound too interesting.
Bow and arrow during Amercian Rev?
Bow and arrow during Amercian Rev?
I don't know. This series has guns already, so that seems odd.
Abe Lincoln: Assassin for Hire
Bow and arrow during Amercian Rev?
An Indian?
I'm just PRAYING this one has a lot new to add to the series. 2 was fantastic, but I never finished Brotherhood and never even bought Revelations. They didn't add enough to justify them.
Time to assassinate some Brits with an arrow mahn
A Native American assassin set in American colonial times? Badass.
Bow and arrow during Amercian Rev?
Native American? Wow ninja'd.
Maybe he's a Native American? Wow ninja'd.
the article suggests he is of Native American descent.
Looks really like a native "Indian", hopefully it won't be full of stereotypes. [editline]1st March 2012[/editline] an they better improve on the story, because since Revelations I am kind of disappointed. If that is true.
Looks really like a native "Indian", hopefully it won't be full of stereotypes.
He better have as killer an accent as Ezio if you can tell me after beating AC2 you weren't using an italian accent you're a liar
Why is Desmond going back in the Animus?
Much larger image of the Mo'fo. Also, this shit has all been confirmed.
I'm okay with this.
FUCK YEA
Operation: Bro Ham.
oh this looks awesome.
Looks more Civil War-ish to me, which I think would make a fantastic time for an AC game.
Oh god, please be real. [editline]1st March 2012[/editline]
Looks more Civil War-ish to me, which I think would make a fantastic time for an AC game.
That flag wasn't used during the Civil war.
I really can't fucking wait for ACIII, the protagonist and setting sounds amazing. And the fact that it has been in development for three years adds to the excitement.
Not that I'm extremely disappointed, but I was kind of hoping for an AC in the French Revolution... If not for the fact that it fits the Ubisoft bill of "historical periods infrequently covered in video games", then because parkour in Paris would be awesome.
Bow and arrow during Amercian Rev?
Your avatar is not a grizzly bear, it's not a grizzly bear at all!
Go play the Saboteur, it's got Nazis and boobs. This sounds new and inviting and I am probably going to get it.
I wonder if they'll say george washington was an assassin because of the whole bird motif and the eagle is the US mascot.
Oh yes I would very much like to play this game.
Not sure how he's going to fit in with society. Gee I'm wearing this hood and bright white clothes. I'm certainly not an assassin. I mean sure the other games did practically the same thing but they were somewhat believable (I consider Revelations' outfit the most believable in terms of coloring). Ah well I bet it'll still be an awesome game.
Aren't many of the founding fathers (of America) supposedly Masons aka Templars?

Either way I'm really glad they're doing something new. edit: Nope it's not.
No, it's white. Kotaku got this posted up. GameInformer goofed and revealed it:
