(Most info shamelessly copy-pasted from Wikipedia because I'm a lazy fuck.) The game takes place in the fictional city of Port Carverton, which embraces skateboarding, unlike the "skateboarding is a crime" mentality portrayed in the second game. Although the location is more colorful and friendlier place than Skate 2's desaturated, and grainy streets; the gameplay provides a similar feel to the first and second games. Several notable skateboarding professionals appear throughout the game, such as Darren Navarette, Terry Kennedy, Eric Koston, and Jason Lee. In contrast with the original Skate, two new difficulty levels have been added – "Easy" and "Hardcore" modes. "Easy Mode" allows the player to perform tricks easier and provides greater control of the character. "Hardcore Mode" attempts a closer simulation of skateboarding and the player must perform tricks precisely. The game also features an introductory "Skate School", where Coach Frank teaches players the basics of skateboarding, such as grinding and performing ollies. This feature is optional and the area can also be visited for unrestricted skateboarding. Similar to the Tony Hawk games, Skate features a "Skate Park" that allows players to build custom skateparks. EA introduced three new online game modes: "1-Up", "Domination", and "Own The Lot". In "1-Up", players compete in turns to beat the other team's last score in a given time period. In "Domination", teams compete to gain the most points on set spots in an area within a time limit. In "Own The Lot", the teams compete to be the first to complete a number of specified tricks in a certain area. (SHAMELESS COPY PASTE ENDS HERE.) While some people may have been turned off to the Skate series when it was introduced in teasers as it was a bit more realistic in comparison to the leading Tony Hawk games. In the new(est) installment, however, the realism was toned town quite a bit in the normal mode. Floaty physics, drastically unrealistic skating mechanics, and just plain old slamming your face into concrete slabs fun to be had in Skate 3. I recently got this game for the 360 again for about $25, and I'm willing to bet you could find it at an even lower price. This game has enough to do, but in the case you do run out, you'll most likely end up making up your own little mini games with the opportunities presented by the Object Dropper, and overall the freedom given as far as movable objects and other activities go. Overall Skate 3 is an amazing game and I strongly recommend anyone with a 360 or PS3 pick up a copy. The community has produced quite a few gems showing off their ability, (or inability,) to play the game well. God fucking damn. Ben Buja never fails to impress me.
I died laughing watching the last 2 videos.
In Skate 2 your guy could get all bloodied and dirtied from falling too much, but when I played the Skate 3 demo awhile ago none of that happened. Can any of you who own Skate 3 confirm or deny if that's still in the game and just removed from the demo or what?
Oh man I remember playing the demo for Skate 1 when it was new and the demo was so glitchy they had to patch it
Somebody had to post this video, it's a classic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2UXDn_bB20&feature=player_embedded
I've made my decision. Buying it today.
watching skaters hurt themselves always makes my day better. totally loved the tony hawk games i'm prolly gon buy me the whole skate triology as well in the upcoming year once my payment for a commission tops 100eur
I played the Skate 3 demo for hours leading up to the launch using a glitch that would reset your 20 minute timer.
Spent so much time, not doing the objectives and just bailing in very constructive ways.
Don't forget Robbydude576's videos.

More like Skate 3: The laws of Physics take a vacation
I remember having Skate 1 back when I had a 360. Should get Skate 3 for my PS3. It is quite cheap now.
I remember having Skate 1 back when I had a 360. Should get Skate 3 for my PS3. It is quite cheap now.
If you do, make sure you buy it new because it's got one of those access codes for most of the online stuff.
I've made my decision. Buying it today.
I'll buy it add me on PSN- OH WAIT NEVERMIND. Fucking hell :smith: But seriously I will buy it.
So is this game a THPS clone or is there something different and innovative?
I like how this guy pretty much stole my video :colbert: Mine: His:
And his has 15,000 views, yours has 150. You should report him for it, the fucker.
In the words of the automated announcer from the beginning of Portal 2: "If the laws of physics no longer apply, god help you."
So is this game a THPS clone or is there something different and innovative?
It's nothing like THPS except for the skateboards. The trick system is dependent upon the movements of the right stick, not predefined buttons to do certain tricks.
Played the shit about skate 2 and 3, 1 not so much.

If it isn't maybe you should try finding out who the other guy is instead.

It's been a while, so I'm not completely sure if it's as bad as Skate 2.
I know you can get bruises and stuff, but I don't recall ever being really bloody or anything.
Skate 2 is legendary, Skate 3 is fucking awesome. I'll post a couple of my videos. This one is Skate 2 but oh well. This one is Skate 3, and a lot of people liked it in the Skate 3 thread when the game came out in May, but it didn't get many views sadly. I wanna trade my xbox copy in for a PS3 copy since I'm too poor for live. My gamertag is FullStreak but I got a month of gold left. Dunno if I want to renew. This is some team things, dunno how it works. Is there a FP team?
