I bought Guitar Hero 3 when it was out, and now I'm looking to purchase another GH, however when you go and view the game info on some of the new ones (World tour, greatest hits) it says
"Requires a compatible drum, microphone or guitar controller to play"
I take it that means you just need [b]one[/b] of the above to play the game? just you'd have more variety playing the songs if you had the extras?
I was thinking on getting World Tour but i only have the guitar controller, would i still find it fun? i can always purchase drums separate later on.

You need a drum kit to play the drums. You need a microphone to play the mic.
With a guitar controller you can only play Guitar and Bass.
Ok, just its quite expensive in the UK for the whole world tour bundle, I'd only be interested in the Guitar and Drum side because I'm not interested in the singing side lol.
World Tour has a dreadful setlist when you look past the Foo Fighters, SOAD, Rise Against and Modest Mouse. Get Metallica, it's actually fun on guitar and bass compared to WT and has the best setlist yet. Smash Hits would be a good idea as well.

I read reviews on the metallica game, and people said you should really only get it if your a big fan of them?

GH: Smahs Hits has some great songs :)
Go with Rock Band 2.

I don't want to debate music here but all those bands you stated are horrible besides Modest Mouse, and Float On is one of their worst songs. It seems that when I play online the ten year olds I get matched up with never fail to pick BYOB... every single time. The song's not good in the first place.
I played GH: Metallica too, I wouldn't get it unless your into heavy stuff. Your best bet would be Smash Hits. It's all the best songs from the GH series mixed into one game.

lol it's not even about guitar anymore really. They should call band hero or a better name
Band Hero is being made, it's aim is something: "More mainstream."
