Installed Doom 2 w/ the original CD... how do I make the sound come through my headphones?

I install my dad's old Doom 2 since my computer at the time is borked and can't run new games that require a pretty good PC
So uh... wtf are these settings? (I run the SETUP.EXE off my Doom 2 folder)

When I choose music card option this comes up:

when I choose the Sound FX Card option, this comes up:

When I went through and played it with everything on default, the sound came through my PC Speakers and not my headphones :v:
Get a source port. It's a bitch to configure that stuff for modern computers.
i'd recommend using a doom launcher like zdoom instead of the original for increased functionalities

Cool brb'
ok got it; thanks :buddy:
What I would do is download the Dos Shooter Mega Pack(I found it on the pirate bay), which has Ultimate DooM, DooM 2, DooM: Tnt and DooM: Plutonia Project adapted for modern computers. It also has a bit of customization which I don't think the original had.

Or just download ZDoom.
If you want a vanilla style experience I'd suggest Chocolate Doom.
Mostly vanilla but still things like mouse aim and higher-resolutions, ZDoom.
And then GZDoom for OpenGL rendering and SkullTag for Multiplayer.
There was something like this for my dad's old copy of Duke Nukem 3D. Those things are a bitch to figure out.

SkullTag also has bot support and an Invasion gamemode where you (and/or your friends online?) have to fight off waves of enemies.
Aaah.... Doom 2... So much nostalgia.

zdoom works like a charm
I tried skulltag and it turns my screen into rainbows autoresets my PC :v:
fuck I need to replace my fried parts
Thank god for the ID Super Pack on Steam.
Skulltag is also really nice, try that out.
skulltag is better for multiplayer, but for singleplayer i still prefer zdoom

Skulltag is also useful for mapping since it has more monsters and items than ZDoom or GZDoom have. That way you don't have to deal with unbalanced R667 monsters and items or making your own.
Skulltag also comes with Doomseeker, which is an awesome gui for hosting/joining MP games.
