It seems this happens every time that I stop playing for an extended period. I get cravings, and I'm getting them now. I have some questions:
I want to start a new character, and I was thinking of a paladin. This is because I will be able to heal, and therefore get in groups easier. I want to be a raider, and I feel using a hybrid class is the best choice to get me there. Are paladins still a good class? I also read somewhere now LFG works cross servers, with others in your battlegroup. Is this true? And have you noticed if you find groups faster?
The last time I played was October 2009, has much changed?
Lastly, is there any info regarding Cataclysms release date yet?

- Yes, Paladins are still a good class but they're the most over-saturated in the game at the moment. Don't expect to find too many PuGs/Raiding guilds wanting to nab you if you pick Paladin.
- LFG works cross across your battlegroup, yes. As a healer I normally wait up to 5 minutes, as a Tank I get a group instantly almost every time.

A good alternative to paladin is druid. Like Caps lock said, they're still a good class but there's a hell of a lot of them. Whenever I tried to join PuGs as a prot paladin I'd get "sorry, already got one". On three of the servers I've played on, holy paladins have been fairly in demand though.

Thanks for the reply's, I would like to play druid but I just think Tauren look shit when wearing druid gear. Warrior gear? They look fuckin' awesome, but these dress druids wear doesn't fly with me.
I know that in Cataclysm other races can be druids, but I'm gonna guess that it will be a loong time.. :(
Yeah but most of the time you'd be in boomkin/cat/bear/tree form so you wouldn't see your gear anyways. Taurens are awesome either way, though.
Roll a shaman. Not many good ones around.
Gonna roll a druid, it's one of the classes I never leveled highly.
