I think they should. I own both outbreak 1 and 2, i don't know exactly WHY they stopped with them, i mean, sure, REO2 tanked pretty hard in sales, but so did their rail shooters from the past but that never stopped them from trying to make newer ones. Theres a GREAT deal of things they could do to improve on and add with newer technologies. Some things i'd want are:
-Option to choose between classic control style and new control style (classic being an isometric point of view with new being behind the shoulder with laser sight)
-Voice chat, if your in the same room, so it's more realistic and makes you wonder if your team mates are still alive
-More weapons and more effective melee weapons
-No infection rate until your actually hurt with 1 or 2 antidotes scattered around each level for if you DO get hurt, but the infection is slightly faster
-More interactive maps and ways to solve puzzles
-More varied environments (jungle, arctic mabye or somewhere where its snowy like alaska, desert, mines/tunnels)
-More unlockable costumes and characters with costumes and characters also effecting how the character acts and is effected (for instance a firefighter outfit makes him more immune to fire and bites and has a chance of not getting infected, or as a scientist you automaticaly start out with 1 cure)
-Ability to switch between different characters (not totally sure about this yet, but it was in REzero)
-Randomized enemy and item spawns
-Option to fight a boss at the end or escape, but fighting the boss gives you large bonuses to your score and gives unlockables
-Costumes working in cutscenes (im tired of seeing my character revert back to his normal self without the costume hes wearing on)
-More ways to die automaticaly but not too commom (for instance, falling to your death because of a weak hand rail that might be weak in that play through, but not weak in others, stuff sort of like that)
-I liked how there was more then one way to beat a map for some levels, like the subway level, where if you missed the train you had to go through a very intricate ventilation system which was almost the full length of the original level
-Ability to drop items where ever you want, and stackable herbs
Those are some of the things that i would want out of a new one and some things that i think should be fixed.

Outbreak 2 was ok, it improved on some things and, erm, unimproved on others. For instance, the voice acting was shittier... I know, how is that even possible? Although it does have a HELL of alot more unlockables.
missed out on both so would be interesting to play a new one as I doubt the first 2 are alive now?
