Duke Nukem has been protecting our asses since 1991, but in 1996 he went 3D. The version edition of the game is v1.5, which has an extra series of levels as opposed to 1.3, which is in the shareware version. This is your standard quality of graphics. 2.5 dimensions and sprites. Is what you can get if you download the high resolution pack Using some mods, you can play online. I think that's about it. Oh, and watch out for Protozoid Slimers.
Link to the high res pack? I thought I had it but it was just the version that had higher res sprites.
Best game on XBL arcade, since my N64 got stolen. I wonder if forever will ever be released.
Best game on XBL arcade, since my N64 got stolen. I wonder if forever will ever be released.
It won't. Forever is gone. :geno:
Still playing this game, gotta love Duke Nukem. [editline]12:18PM[/editline]
It won't. Forever is gone. :geno:
I think it was just put into a very slow state.
It won't. Forever is gone. :geno:
The developers have even said they wasted all the time and money on WoW.
It won't. Forever is gone. :geno:
No, actually they're back in development They sued 2K for lack of funding
That first high res picture was an April fool's joke. Edit: He changed it
Bought this game on Gog.com. I love it. [editline]11:37PM[/editline]
No, actually they're back in development They sued 2K for lack of funding
Can you provide a source? I'd really like this to be true.
The developers have even said they wasted all the time and money on WoW.
source?
I like playing D3D without any high-res packs for nostalgia purposes.
my favorite was D3D atomic edition... we never could keep all the cd rom's in one place.
That first high res picture was an April fool's joke.
Well apart from the shading, it's almost identical to the HRP.
I need some links to get it online.
You guys use texture packs? That's not right, classic games should be played vanilla.
Well apart from the shading, it's almost identical to the HRP.
You should still take it down. It's going to make people think it's going to add DX9 shaders when it isn't.

The lawsuit seems to be over a contractual breach, but not regarding the $12 million mentioned above. Take-Two has asked for a restraining order and a preliminary injunction, to make 3D Realms keep the Duke Nukem Forever assets intact during proceedings. The court denied Take-Two's request for a temporary restraining order. As the court documents surfaced, it was also revealed that in 2007, 2K Games started working on a new Duke Nukem-related project, codenamed "Duke Begins", slated to be finished by mid-2010. Development was halted in the April of 2009, without the consent of Apogee—in their counterclaim, Apogee claimed that "Take-Two and 2K Games are taking such actions with a goal of pressuring Apogee to sell the Duke Nukem franchise rights to Take-Two for less than their true value." During late July, 2009 Scott Miller made a statement on his Facebook account, saying "If you haven’t heard, [Duke] took a little break, but is back in the game now."
Great game. Lots of fun playing co-op on the N64 and Deathmatch was hysterical when friends came over. Recently bought it on GoG and have some mods like Duke Plus and High Res pack. Also tried using YANG for multiplayer, but I never found anyone else online.
I used YANG to play co-op with one of my friends. I haven't found anyone playing on the server list though.
DN3D sucks. the only thing that made the game any good was the character and his one liners - everything else blows any more stop making threads about it. you're not raising back any nostalgia because a thread is made about this every week

Why post?
I'm starting to smell a troll.
i havent seen another post for DN3D?
This is my first game i ever played on the computer.. I need to find my original disk, then my duke it out in DC disk.. Then my ATOMIC edition disk.. Then my nuclear winter disk.. Jesus i'm never gonna find all of em.
Played this through with my cousin in Co-op. Probably one of the best Coop games around. After System Shock 2 of course.
It's obvious you guys haven't seen the new rendering for Duke Nukem 3D, It's a little something called polymer. If you had you'd be screaming really loud and jumping up and down while holding hands
Hawt, but looks a tad too dark
Heh, I got this on the xbox live arcade. Wish I had someone to do it co-op with cause i'm just not that good at it. Still, great game.
I want the polymer renderer. Now.
