• Steam games Transfers

Hey all. So I know this is probably a dumb question but I recently bought MW2 which to be honest is absolutely horrid for so many reasons. My dad however loves the game and wants it but we can't afford another copy I would just leave my account open but the having to leave steam friends on, fully logged in to everything with all my friends is just not plausible for many reasons. So my question is this, is there anyway I can transfer my MW2 game from my account and put it onto an account completely separate to for my dad. So Imagine its like revoking the license or code from my account and then giving it to my dad, is this possible at all, I've tried Google and didn't find much at all. Thanks
No.

Once the game is on the account, it STAYS ON THE ACCOUNT. Nope.
Damn and I'm guessing that emailing steam won't help either? That's if they ever respond for the first time to me. (I've sent them emails before, important emails and got naff all response when people who send flaming or joke emails get replies all the time, its annoying. :()
No that won't help. It doesn't happen. Ever.
I feel kinda cheated that you HAVE to activate it on steam, that's my only problem as my dad will make the moneys worth out of it, just a shame that I gotta leave my steam fully on and crap for him to play. All the hoops we have to jump through nowadays just to play a goddamn game. :( [editline]05:28PM[/editline] https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1673-IDGK-4694 Found this, interesting.
You could just set your Steam Friends mode to offline, then you wouldn't be bothered by it.
Can't you just gift it to him?
Can't you just gift it to him?
You can only gift something if you buy it as a gift.
If you "reset" that CD-Key, the account it's on will be permanently disabled.
If you could trade licenses, companies would lose a TON of money--not to mention the ability to share a game.
Contact Valve. I've heard quite a few times people swung they bought games for the wrong account andhave had it moved to say, their brother's account.
Email valve saying you accidentally bought it for the wrong account.
i knew something was up when i saw jamie of all people in MW2.
You could just set your Steam Friends mode to offline, then you wouldn't be bothered by it.
If you set friends to offline it comes up with "Disconnected from steam." Message, so Friends as far as my experiences have gone seem to point towards it having to be on to play online. :( I'm gonna email Valve and see what the possible options are.
That is not true. You're only offline on friends. Not steam.

Are you sure you're going to Friends->Status->Offline? Or are you going to File->Go Offline?
Just contact support, explain everything to them and they MIGHT do it for you. Also, you can always set your friends status to 'offline'.
I think you might be using the wrong offline. Are you sure you're going to Friends->Status->Offline? "Disconnected From Steam." So unless it was pure rotten luck that steam also had a hissy fit at the same time then god knows. I'll join a game and make friends offline again to test and try to take a screenshot I guess. [editline]12:21PM[/editline] Ok so it was pure and utter bad luck, while I'll be damned. Worked fine this time, weird. Ok so that's one obstacle down, next question. Is it possible for my account to be logged into 2 places AKA my Pc upstairs with friends online and downstairs with friends offline, I'm guessing not?
no only one place you could just get people to add a new account, you can't add them unless you get the free hl2dm bundle
I think you can only play multiplayer games on one account at the same time, although I think you can have both logged on.

Were you playing l4d or l4d2? because you can't play those games without being logged in steam friends. No, only one person can be logged in at any given time.
I think you can only play multiplayer games on one account at the same time, although I think you can have both logged on.
No, you can only log in on one pc at a time.

aydin690 Nope I meant COD, just turns out it was pure rotten luck that steam disconnected at the same time. Anyway, I'll make a Alt account if worst comes to the worst. Thanks so much everyone, really appreciate the help. *Thumbs Up* Jamie
Worked fine this time, weird.
It's not weird that it worked this time, because that is how it is supposed to work, and how it has always worked.
