Hi, so I've been a huge fan of the series, but never bought DOW2, because it was so different from the first game. But I got the chance to play it for a bit, and I loved it! Now, I want to buy it mostly for Multiplayer.(Didn't really liked the campagin felt like an RPG).
Since Chaos Rising is out, I have a few questions.
Will Chaos Rising work withouth the Original DOW2?
For multiplayer only, is it better to buy Chaos Rising, if it runs alone?
Chaos rising is stand alone so yes. If you just buy chaos rising you will only be able to play as chaos

Chaos rising= chaos only but you can play against the others
If you have to origonal you can play as the other 4.

Well, thats stupid.
In what way is that stupid? It's the same thing Relic's done with all their expansions, why not let it act as a standalone game if you don't have the original Dawn of War 2? Did you honestly expect it to include everything included in the original title on top of the expansion for half the price of the original?

Anyway, I'm not impressed by DOW2. It feels like a shoddy combination of DOW and COH, but does neither of them well and ends up just eating shit.

I mean, why make it standalone then? And is it the same with the original DOW that you have to have all the expansions installed if you want to play all races?
I got DoW 2 for £5 off play.com so I wasn't that bothered, but to be honest, DoW 2 wasn't that good at all.
I got DoW2 in that THQ-sale back in November I believe. 17 games for 54 euro? Good price for me!

you play as the space marines
but in Multiplayer,i think it's just chaos

I got it from that pack too. I saw it in there with the originals (one of the reasons I wanted it), and thought, fuck it, a free game basically.
Though from what I saw during the beta one of my mates had access to, it was extremely unoptimized in game. Even the menus had framerate issues. Have the improved on that yet?

at 30 pound it seems only right.
DoW2 and CR are definitely worth it. One of the few games I've come across that doesn't lose its appeal after a week.

Thanks to Dr_MadMan, I tried this game out more.
It is shit compared to the other one. The campagin is okay, but the first DOW was better. This only one building, chose a hero, cap points stuff is like an Mod for Warcraft 3.
