Your goal is to design the MMO world by placing quests and towns, setting level boundaries, creating classes, monsters, and changing settings such as max level, monster density, road safety, etc., with the goal to generate positive buzz about the game, get more subscribers, and beat out the competition. So far, the game is VectorStorm's only 'full' game, all the others being quick diversions that were designed in a week. If you wish to play these games, they are accessible from the main blog page under Games in a Week. On the main game page, only version 1.0 is available, but version 1.1 can be found via the forums, of course, the version is technically in testing, so you might come across a few bugs while playing. You might not want to notify them in the thread, mainly because the forum seems to have died out in the past couple of months. The development blog for the sparkly new 2.0 can be found on the main page. (The host has decided to just skip right on past the 1.x's and on to 2.0) This update will pretty much be a total re-haul of the game, and is currently in active development. One of the main features of this aformentioned sparkly update will be the new 3D terrain system, which will certainly provide an interesting world for you to work with. This engine was originally introduced in the one week development game 'Lord, Save Us From That Horrible Land'. Of course, while the game was developed in the week, the engine has been developed over the course of a few months. If you are still reading, you've managed to get to the picture dump. I think I'm gonna check this out. I don't know why, but recently I've been reluctant to try anything new, even though I'm bored as hell.
Make your own MMO ey? Gonna check it out.
Anyone else game a bit laggy? [editline]04:12PM[/editline] It was the really light bloom, nevermind

Awesome, I just read the thread on version 2.0 in their forum. It says while it is an singleplayer offline game, your local friends (Hamachi can fix that) can join and play the MMO you've created. And uber, that says Prune, not Prawn. [editline]04:18PM[/editline] Okay, just re-read it more carefully. It's a thread about what he should chose. That was choice number 2. Number 1 was the game being completely singleplayer, and number 3 is having each MMO be a real MMO hosted on his servers. Alright, back to looking for 1.1
Looks like a really interesting concept, I'll check it out.
i remember this from awhile back, was awkward trying to get a good balance on too easy/too hard
i remember this from awhile back, was awkward trying to get a good balance on too easy/too hard
Sometimes I get an equal amount of complaints for both too easy and hard, so I think it still is one of the balance issues that will be worked on in later editions of the game. For now, just try to keep as many people happy as you can, I 'spose.
The players keep bitching that it's too hard, how can it be hard if every class has 5 atk and 5 defense and every creature has everything on 1?

If the gap is big enough, people may be making new characters and then running into a level 10 monster or something.
What levels are your zones set to? If the gap is big enough, people may be making new characters and then running into a level 10 monster or something.
Yeah I figured that out, starting zones are 1-5 people constantly encountering lvl 3-4 monsters.
Are starting zones and such already on the map? How do I add towns and such because all of the town options are faded? Also this whole neon interface and theme doesn't really fit in my opinion.
Hey! I made a thread about this waaaaaay back when. Thanks for reviving the knowledge of this game. I'll have to check it out and see if he's updated anything. [editline]06:49PM[/editline] Ok, those 2.0 screenshots look cool. I've never seen those before, but I kinda miss the vector-ish graphics. He should add it in as a graphics option.
