I have almost all the source games, i want to get half-life, but i don't know what to get: HL1 or HL1S?
Half-Life has good mods like Natural Selection, and also it's expansions that look awesome
Half Life: Source is a "better quality" of the game, it includes deathmatch, also you can set the HL1S stuff on garrysmod, unlike on Half-Life original.
What to get??
Original. More mods !
Also, Half-Life: Source is full of bugs.
Half-Life: Source is pretty much HL1 with ragdoll physics(They look really weird) and the standard source main/pause menu.
Get the original, HL:S just feels weird.

No one uses HLS:DM at all, if that's one of the reasons you were thinking of getting HL:S, the original has tons of mods.

Original for the sole purpose of mods.
Original. No one plays hls:dm and the original has plenty of mods that are quite fun in plentiful amounts (Brainbread, zombie panic, Sven co-op(My fav)etc.)
The original has DM in it as well, and iirc some servers are still active as of last month or so.
Ok, if you guys think the original is better, i'll get the HL1 anthology from steam, and i'll try the sven co-op!

HL:S was a complete waste of my $10 (especially since I already had the original), I thought it would have Source graphics (Stupid me didn't google pictures) and was severely disappointing by the original graphics just spruced up physics. They didn't even bother making new textures :argh:
Just get the original Half-Life, or wait for Black Mesa.

I got HL:S free with HL2 Silver Edition so it was totally worth it for me. If you just want to play through HL, then Source looks a bit nicer while staying true to the original. It's worth getting the original for the mods though.

Well of course since it was free, but $10 for it just isn't worth it when the original is basically the same for the same price, which includes TFC. (I think it does... well mine did anyways. It included CS and TFC)

Yeah there are tons of roaches in the game.
Source has ragdolls.
Though I never played the Source version.
well if you wan't gmod content, ragdoll physics and the great story of and Source menu than source, if not HL1, but with the original you have blue shift and mother freakin' epicness also known as Opposing force then Orignal, so I'd say original oh and more mods :-)
Original is superior.
I actually think the original half life has better graphics than source. HL:S makes everything like the walls and textures look all blurry while the original just looks slightly pixelated but It's still better than shitty blurry stuff smeared all over everything and everyone.
Get an old boxed version (with an unused serial of course). Steam will automatically upgrade it to platinum edition (opposing force, blue shift, tfc, etc for free). though it's risky because if the serial is taken you'll have to play the old non-steam version. It's not worse, you just get less games.
I still have the original Boxed Half-Life with Opposing Force. So I vote get Original.
For some reason I have HL source and the dm, but I don't remember ever buying them :|
