TimeShift is a sci-fi first-person shooter developed by Saber Interactive and published by Sierra Entertainment for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It was developed using the Saber 3D engine, v.S-3 and Havok.
Maybe some of you have heard a tiny bit about Timeshift but I'm guessing the majority of you have never even tried the demo. It came out around the same time as Team Fortress 2 and CoD4 so it was pretty much instantly forgotten. This game has some of the greatest time manipulating of any game I've ever seen and it's definantly something you should at least try. Gameplay Trailer Shows a lot of the things you can do Time Powers After you get one of the coolest and sleekest suits ever you get the power to manipulate time: You can do three things: Pause- Everything around you will stop but you can keep moving. In combat your enemies will freeze and you can just walk up and hit them in the face OR you can take their gun and when it unpauses you can watch as they stare at their hands confused and then cower in fear. It can also be used to get past some hazards. This power drains your "power pack" pretty quickly though. Rewind- This power is very interesting. It will rewind time around you without actually moving you. You can use this to get past hazards, fix mistakes, or get past enemy fire. Slow Time- This obviously slows down time. This is kind of a more power efficiant version of Pause. You can also steal enemies weapons in this mode. Weapons Most of this is "borrowed" from IGN. E.M.F Cannon The E.M.F Cannon uses energy cells to shoot concentrated magnesium projectiles. Like most TimeShift weapons, it has two modes of fire: the primary operates like a more conventional automatic gun, firing shots that deal medium damage. Since the shots droop down over long distances due to gravity, it's most in its element when fired at short to mid-range. Bloodhound This shoulder-mounted rocket launcher is ideal for taking out targets at a distance. Primary fire is the conventional point and shoot, while alternate fire allows you to guide the missile flying through the air. With decent splash damage, it comes in handy against enemies closely clustered together. Just don't fire the thing close to a wall, as a misfire could cause a world of hurt. ThunderBolt (My personal favorite) A crossbow with a twist, the ThunderBolt shoots deadly energy explosive arrows that can penetrate armor and detonate on impact. The explosion from the bolt also has splash damage, making it useful for dealing damage to nearby opponents as well. No weapon is without its drawbacks, however, and the weapon need frequent reloading. At short to medium distances the ThunderBolt can spell certain doom for the soldier that crosses its path, but at longer range it's easily avoidable due to its relatively slower speed (especially when compared to the Echo Rifle). Alt fire allows you to make scoped shots, perfect for delivering a stealthy and lethal blow. Hell-Fire Don't let its diminutive size deceive you--this uzi-style weapon not only shoots incendiary bullets, but also functions as a close-range flamethrower with its alt fire. Sure it's not going to down enemies in on swift stroke, but the conflagration will undoubtedly throw your foes into disarray. Surge Gun The TimeShift equivalent to the BFG 9000, this glowing blue technological terror is the most powerful weapon your physicist hero can lay his hands on. The devastating continuous fire is only matched by the weapon's gluttonous consumption of energy charges--but it's worth it. The alt fire generates a continuous pulse of energy that wipes out any enemies who foolishly lie in its path--leaving but a momentary blood plume in its destructive wake. There are lots more weapons including an assault rifle w/ grenade launcher attachment, a shotgun, and more. Enemies Also mostly "borrowed" from IGN. Krone Guards This wide category of enemy covers the bulk of Krone’s forces bent on destroying you. Krone’s personal armed forces are the lifeblood of his army, and their vicious tactics are well-equipped to put down most threats to Krone’s supremacy. Basically just the grunts. Jetpack Soldiers The most deadly long-range Krone Guard marksmen, Jetpack Soldiers are issued experimental jetpacks to command attacks from above. When attacking in groups, they can coordinate their positions with troops on the ground to assault the enemy from multiple positions. Shoot their jetpacks for some fireworks! Prowler (Tank) The Prowler is a fearsome armored vehicle designed to annihilate enemies with overwhelming force. Usually accompanied by infantry reinforcements, the Prowler’s main shell blast can take out a squad of ill-prepared enemies in a single shot. Thick armor protects it from nearly all weapons fire. Sentry (Mech) The Sentry leads the mechanized arm of Krone’s forces. Manned by a Krone Guard, the Sentry’s powerful search beam can scan the dark streets of Alpha District and beyond, striking with its devastating twin-mounted machine guns and RPG launcher. Helo (Armored Helicopter) The Helo is the signature attack unit of Krone’s air forces. Used mainly for surgical strikes against hostiles, Helos can be dispatched to provide defensive fire or to target key individuals. While a coordinated fleet of Helos can lay waste to an opposing army in minutes, even a lone unit can wreck serious havoc with its high-powered machine gun turrets. Storm Guard The Storm Guard is one of Krone’s cyborg soldiers, created as a mixture of human tissue and robotics technology. The Storm Guard is designed for aggressive assaults, and comes equipped with a wrist-mounted shield generator that protects most of its body from attacks. Fighting without fear, the Storm Guard is a formidable enemy. Flash Guard The Flash Guard is the second of Krone’s man-made soldiers. The Flash Guard is able to move at super-sonic speeds so it only registers as a flash of color, hence the name. Flash Guards are incredibly hard to target due to their speed, and are notorious for mowing down threats within seconds. Use your suit to slow down time when you fight these guys. Warp Guard The Warp Guard is able to freeze time and move throughout the environment at will, appearing to teleport to the outside observer. Wielding the powerful Surge Gun, Warp Guards can instantly maneuver around the battlefield, acting as one-man wrecking crews against hapless enemy forces. Sentinel The Sentinel is Krone’s crowning achievement in technology, a monstrous armored machine that rains destruction down on anyone or anything that stands in the way of the Magistrate’s wishes. Equipped with a range of weapons to deal with any threat, the Sentinel stands unparalleled as a force to be reckoned with. Where can I get this game? You can get it on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/10130/ Currently only $14.99 but the sale ends today Demo http://www.filefront.com/8772720/Time-Shift-English-Demo//
Druid Vampire (God of the Grove) The Druid Vampire, also known as the God of the Grove, was kept in an oak tree by the Druids to preside over their harvest and to ensure the fertility of their land. He was badly burnt when Akasha and Enkil were placed in the sun, and as a result of his weakened state, the Druids went in search for another god. The Druids abduct Marius and return him to their god, who subsequently makes Marius a vampire. He is destroyed by the Druids when he tries to accompany Marius in search of reasons as to why so many vampires where burnt. true, i liked this game quite a bit. i thought multiplayer was pretty good too.
Is it me or does the sentry look like a novacat from the battletech universe. Also timeshift is epicly fun
I really liked this game. Fun just playing around. I saved at this place with like 7-8 enemies and i killed them like 20 times. A different way every time. incredibly fun
It's always fun to steal everyone's weapons and just stand there laughing evily as they helplessly sit there as you bash their heads in.
I completly forgot about this game. Got to try it.
I love blowing up a fire extinguisher, then rewinding and doing it again. [editline]08:09PM[/editline] Also, does anyone know anything about a sequel?
Is there a cheat where you can have infinite time power? If so I'm getting this.
Also, does anyone know anything about a sequel?
I haven't even heard a rumor. I doubt there's going to be one. I guess Singularity is the next best thing. [editline]02:12PM[/editline]
Is there a cheat where you can have infinite time power? If so I'm getting this.
Don't think so but you could get a trainer.
I haven't even heard a rumor. I doubt there's going to be one. I guess Singularity is the next best thing.
But at the very end of the game the suit says "time paradox imminent" IIRC. It looks promising.
The final boss was kinda hard. :(
i played it for a little while, got bored of it though
It was fun for a while, I stopped caring right after that mission where you defend this big blimp or something
Yeah, Timeshift was a pretty fun game. Sure, it didn't have the stellar story and presentation of most good games, but the combat and time manipulation was fun enough to make me see it through to the end.
Timeshift was Ok, the multiplayer was so fucking laggy though it was ridiculous, "Lol look i can throw TIME GRENADES Make you slow down and shoot the fuck out of your character while he's caught in the radius.
it isn't underrated, it just wasn't very good
Looks awesome, can't wait to play it!
God damn I was going to make a thread on this yesterday! It's an awesome game, and great for dicking around in. I remember once I slowed down time to get past a tank, and as I ran past the shell went past my head in slo-mo, it was awesome.
Timeshift wasn't really that good. Really short to be honest. I wouldn't suggest the game to a friend, it was that horrid.
I rented this game to see what all the fuss was about. Not to my surprise the game was garbage. The controls were clunky, the graphics literally made my head hurt and the gameplay was stale by the second level. I really did hate this game and it deserves to be unappreciated.
This game really surprised me, graphics looked excellent on a mid range computer. Only thing that annoyed me was that C was crouch by default. That just really annoys me in games. If they remade it to give it a radial menu like crysis when selecting time abilities it would be excellent. If the game came out about a year earlier than it did before the gaming market was clogged up with generic sci fi shooters I reckon it would've done a lot better.
I tried the demo. I thought it was fairly decent. It wasn't THAT horrible. I can't really recommend a buy though until I buy it myself and see how it is.
I bought it and loved it until I had to defend some blimp or other. That mission sucked.
Yes. I loved the demo of this. The most surprising this is, this demo STILL has LOTS of people playing multiplayer on the PS3. I met alot of my good PSN friends playing that demo.
GAMEPLAY SCREENSHOTS PLEASE I'm not going to discuss about a game if you don't even show screenshots of the actual gameplay.
GAMEPLAY SCREENSHOTS PLEASE I'm not going to discuss about a game if you don't even show screenshots of the actual gameplay.
Most of the screenshots in OP is gameplay shots
Most of the screenshots in OP is gameplay shots
No they arn't first person.
It's not underrated it's just a bad game. [editline]11:23PM[/editline] good concept though
No they arn't first person.
Yeah, because you TOTALLY can't spectate in every shooter.
