I logged on this morning to find I didn't have a connection to the steam servers, which is okay; It's happened before. But then I try to connect to a server and I get kicked out with a message regarding being unable to connect to the VAC server after a minute or two. I think this has to deal with the latest update from... Last night I believe. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
If you're not connected to Steam, you won't be able to join servers due to VAC thinking your client isn't a legit Steam copy.

But that's the weird thing. I was able to connect to a server a friend was on for a few minutes before I got disconnected.

I went to her page and joined via the "join game" button on her page; I can see my favorite servers just fine; I can attempt to connect to them, but like I said, it either lets me connect for a minute or so or not let me on at all, giving me that VAC message.
My Steam isn't connecting either. Maybe the servers are down or undergoing maintenance or something.
If that were the case, it would be saying "Steam servers are currently down for maintenance.", right?
Very true. I have no idea what the issue is, then. I checked my profile and there's people on my friends list on. Hm.
I don't know if this is related, but when I logged on to Steam I noticed I had a new item in my inventory. The item is a coupon for -66% Might and Magic Clash of Heroes. Is there a promotion I'm unaware of? Or did I just get lucky?

I got that same coupon, and Neodement got a coupon for Revelations.
What is happening.
I got 2 coupons for Revelations and 1 for Might and Magic CoH.

Anybody figured out what's happening so far?
It just fixed itself somehow.
I have had problems with steam for the last two days being laggy, odd and slow but I can't confirm since my internet provider has been screwing up to.
My little brother had this yesterday. He got so pissed off, we tried reinstalling steam, resetting pc, resetting router, turning off firewall... Nothing helped.
Any fixes? (I was on the same network, with my laptop, steam worked fine, also on the other pc's in the house, so it was random.
