Game Information The low-down on one of the most original and fun game ideas for a long time... With Elixir Studio's first title, Republic, a reputation for originality and technical mastery was born. Since then, Elixir has channeled its collective energies into developing a fun and exciting idea of a game; one that was very popular at release. Well then... what is Evil Genius? To start with, let's see what the Elixir blurb says: In this strategy / simulation game created by Elixir Studios, the player assumes the role of an evil mastermind bent on achieving global domination through the construction of the ultimate doomsday device. Build a secret base, gain infamy and notoriety by completing daring missions, repel the forces of justice in real-time combat and develop evil super weapons to complete a nefarious master plan. Evil Genius is a tongue-in-cheek take on the 60's spy thriller genre offering the player the chance to play the villain himself and control a secret island fortress complete with powerful henchmen, loyal minions and a wide range of hilarious gizmos, gadgets and traps. If that isn't enough, why not have a browse through just a few of the key features of the game: * Master all five evil gameplay elements: base building, real-time combat, minion training, techno-research, and mission deployment * Manage your minions as you train them to develop evil technology and super-weapons * Build your secret base and defend it against attacks by obnoxious action heroes and government agents in real time * Find and recruit talented henchmen from a variety of exotic locations; dispatch agents to war zones in search of talent, scour universities for insane scientists and launch prison breaks to free captured henchmen * Undertake numerous missions to increase your power and notoriety, including stealing the Eiffel Tower, kidnapping pop stars, and procuring priceless treasures and art Put it this way. Evil Genius is fun, engaging, humerous, technically impressive and addictive. Use the handy links on your left and browse through the screenshot collections, information about rooms, traps and characters... even download a couple of videos from our links to FilePlanet. Within minutes you'll be hooked. Evil Genius has been described as having the traits of many other games whilst being wonderfully original at the same time. Well... what else would you expect from Demis Hassabis, a man who has worked on Black and White and Theme Park as well as Evil Genius' predecessor, Republic? Looking at the game, shades of Theme Park, Theme Hospital and definitely Dungeon Keeper can be seen. And these are all damn good games, so it's hardly a bad thing. Lastly, the proof that this game is cool is simple. This website exists. This webmaster has playtested Evil Genius full time for a long period of time. I don't create a website every time I play a game... that is a big wall. but read it movies: (funny james bond parody) trailer building a base the super good music of Evil Genius pics: Demo grab the demo! main site: www.EvilPlanet.com

For those of us that don't like ordering online, it is.
It's also listed as a "classic" at some larger retailers here in Australia, also my friend has it, so i can just borrow from him. I'd play this game if i didn't already have Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, Republic Commando, Oblivion HL2 EP2 and Dawn of War to play.
This game was so awesome that I bought 2 copies of it, just in case one of them goes missing.
i mean stores, not buy it from a site
I only bought the game on Steam on Saturday ($10) and have just gotten to the second island as Maximillian. I think I didn't choose my henchmen very well. I was under the impression that they have passive effects on minions but they don't seem to. I have Jubei, Red Ivan, Dr. Neurocide (or whatever her name is), and Eli Barricuda. Anybody have any tips for what henchmen I should choose for my next run through?
Hard to get? It's on Steam for $10. I kinda liked it, but the whole security system frustrated me so i kinda quit playing. (cameras won't do shit unless you tagged the agents)
Fun game, but I find it a little confusing on the "World domination" bit.
I keep my base on yellow alert 24/7
I love this game. I like to play without traps, only cameras and secruity stuff. And a big army. Yellow alert ftw.
I wanna play it but I've never gotten that far.. Those pesky agents always plopped out of the floor and blew up my powerplants.
I wanna play it but I've never gotten that far.. Like putting stuff in front of the powerplants so agents can't get there. If you do it they'll just dig their way into your base.

Tip: Put the first loot you get in your control room, or put your evil genius there, minions lose their loyalty and leave the base very often in the control room. Tip: When you first start out, make a hallway and have a small room with the highest level door there, preferably a little ways back, then put your evil genius in there until you get enough money for an evil sanctum.
I'm on the front page of a mega thread!
The one big thing I remembered about this game was the music, it was incredible and really fit the style of the game.

I really should at some point seeing as how it's been on Steam for a while now.

They really need to make a sequel for this.

"For me, I love the old Bullfrog IP, it got me really passionately into games, and I'm really proud that Bullfrog is part of the heritage of Bright Light," Elliot told Kikizo. "I'm personally a huge fan of Populous and Theme Park, they were some of my favourite games - many years ago, obviously - and I'd love to see both of those remade." Harvey said that the studio is likely to look at the viability of recreating Bullfrog franchises in the future, but it's important to reassess classic IP realistically rather than through rose-tinted spectacles. "The thing is, the romance of the idea is often detached from the reality of executing it. If you remember all the old classics you played, if you go back and play them now, they're not the same," he offered. "They were right for their time, and the trick with those games is coming up with what's right for the time now. "I'm going to look at them at some point, I think there's an opportunity to bring those back in the future, but only if it's right for the time and not just a 'remake' or something. We'd need to do it in a way that's true to the original values, but would still make a great game today." Other classic Bullfrog IP includes Powermonger and Magic Carpet. A new title in the Syndicate series is also in the works at The Chronicles of Riddick studio Starbreeze. [editline]06:49PM[/editline] now we can choose!! CHOOSE FOR DK 3 !!!!!!!!!
yeah dungeon keeper is good but there's a thread for that this is evil genius

still nice to know since Dungeon Keeper was the first game with this concept and on top of that makes evil genius look like shit, although evil genius rocks!
