What games have stood the test of time, as in what video games do you play that came out a while ago that are still as fun and entertaining as when they were when they first came out. For me it has to be any ID shooter game such as Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, etc. (User was banned for this post ("Post your" - Orkel))
Starcraft Brood War
The Unreal Tournament games are still fun to load up every now and then.
Diablo 2 and its expansion. Both are still extremely fun to play by yourself and with others, even after a decade.
Now that i think about it i still play Fallout 1 and 2 a lot.
Diablo 2 and its expansion. Both are still extremely fun to play by yourself and with others, even after a decade.
Congratulations on your first post since 2005. Also, Age of Empires is still good to play. Along with Mythology.
Diablo 2 and its expansion. Both are still extremely fun to play by yourself and with others, even after a decade.
I swear if I could see how many hours I've put into Diablo 2 it'd be at least 5,000.
Rollercoaster tycoon
counter strike
Deus Ex
Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 and Yuris Revenge
The Unreal Tournament games
& Sonic the Hedgehog 2. San Andreas is a game I still play daily online so I guess that counts too, even though it isn't too old (only 6 or 7 years, right)
Torrins Passage.
Total Annihilation Freespace 2 SWAT 3
Half life Super Mario Bros. / Kart Donkey Kong Country NFL 2k5
swg when it wasn't closed sad face.
The Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series.
Torrins Passage.
It's Torin's Passage, and no one's going to know what you're talking about except for me. It's surprising that Al Lowe was able to create a genuinely good game that was family friendly. Also, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 though to 4 still hold up fairly well.

Homeworld 1/2
Super Mario 64 may not be too easy on the eyes, but it is still one of my favorite games of all time.
Star Wars Republic Commando. I could install it and play it through whenever, it just doesn't get old.
Thief 1 and 2.
SWAT 4 I play it with my friends whenever we LAN. Also the old Command and Conquer games are still fun to play too.
Half-Life & 2
Any PS1 game.
Super Mario 64 may not be too easy on the eyes, but it is still one of my favorite games of all time.
Probably the reason this game is still good is that they seemed to focus more on fun level design than aesthetics. I mean, Whomp's Fortress barely resembles a fortress at all, but it's a fun level. The Bowser stages are basically a random assortment of platforms and obstacles, but they work, and that's what's important.
I'd say TF2 is a pretty good example of a game that has managed to adapt to new times and audiences and has applied the "games as a service rather than a product" Valve philosophy very well. From a personal standpoint I find it to be selling out, but there's plenty of Primeval Warriors who still play the game the way it's meant to be played. Also, any Tony Hawk game.
Star Wars Republic Commando. I could install it and play it through whenever, it just doesn't get old.
Forgot about this. Would also like to add the 2 Battlefront games.
Battlefield 2
