My D drive only has 15 GBs left so i want to move steam to drive C so what i was thinking was that i could make a back up on my other computer then copy and paste steam to C drive but im sure that there is more to it than that so if any one knows how to safely move the files that would be helpful what i mean by safely is that steam wont break and it would work flawlessly, normal ect.

save the steamapps folder, then reinstall steam on the other drive and replace the newly installed steamapps folder (with nothing in it) with the one you saved.

no, it just moves all of your data files. Like the actual games, the ownership files, mods, etc. So no, when you do that it "installs" them. I'm guessing you might want to check integrity of game cache for some of the games if they aren't working properly.
ctrl-x it from location A and paste it to location B.
Then go fix the registry.

It wont lets a game save copy it says "cannot cop KUUL SAVE: cannot find spicifc file" what does that mean? I tried deleting the file but i cant get it to work whats happening?
Okay, here is how I did it.
[B]TURN OFF/EXIT/LOGOUT/WHATEVER, FROM STEAM[/B]
Delete [highlight]everything, apart from[/highlight]
[B]STEAMAPPS AND STEAM.EXE[/B]
MOVE THEM TO YOUR NEW LOCATION
WAIT FOR IT TO MOVE (TAKSE A WHILE)
OPEN UP STEAM, WAIT TO UPDATE, GO!
No idea about the regestery, nothin goin on with me there.

I moved the files thanks but the path at G:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps how can i get my profile name file to be in there beacause i want to isnstall garrys mod mods

What I am trying to say is that the folder that has my gmod half life css ect. Is not in my steam apps folder so there is no steam apps/****** but it does have the source mods and common folder
Then you screwed up, or, try running all your games so it re-downloads them.
