Ok so I just recently bought SWAT 4 Gold Edition from gamestop's website (download, which I also assume is the problem) and I am incredibly mad. the loading times take anywhere from 5-10 minutes in all aspects of the game (as in connecting to a server, the splash logo etc.) Im not exactly sure whats wrong but I assume its because i D2Ded it instead of using a disc.
Specs:
Intel 82945G Express Chipset (integrated, which may be the problem)
2 GB RAM
Intel Core 2 CPU @ 1.8 GHz
I think thats it.
You can't.
No matter the computer, SWAT 4 just loads slow. That's the reason I don't play it more.

So it's 5-10 mins slow for everyone?
Yes.
An i7 can knock it down to about 3 1/2, though.
an E2180 is a problem as well as the intergrated

Defrag your Harddrive, your best bet. D2D or disc doesn't matter.

:frogsiren:NOOB QUESTION AHEAD:frogsiren:
How?
Deleting startup videos could help a bit?

Trying it out now.
loading off disk also depends on the cache of your HDD if this is a laptop it is probbly 5400/4200RPM w/ 8/16mb cache, which can make a difference

I have a friend who goes by the name of funkwares. He built his computer last month, and fuck all I don't remember all the specs, but I remember specifically he had an i7 and a 285 (ffff I'm pretty sure, anyway) and was getting about 2 minute load times.

Ill punch it in the face until it loads faster :c00l:
In all honesty if you want it to load faster, get Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield.

Ill stick to R6V2
It's not your PC, it loads slowly on all, the engine wasn't very well optimized.
Akward, it usually only takes 15 to 20 seconds to load for me :crossarms:

Not knocking you or your post, but why the hell can't it do it quicker?
What is wrong with this game?
Odd. I installed SWAT 4 two weeks ago and played it. It loaded in seconds for me.

Not optimized at all.
Start up and the first level you load take long, then it's ok from there.
Pissed me off that when you try to play coop with a friend if you both die you gotta reload the map all over again to play.
Yea, same for me. It loads quickly. Never had loading problems with SWAT 4.
