Games Section Rules Thread V2 - Rate Dumb If You Comply
0 replies, posted
The first thread was removed, so here's the sequel:
Firstly, the rules list is not complete, so if there's something not listed here, that doesn't mean you can still do it. Use Common Sense.
- No Fanboyism/Elitism of any kind. That means you can't just go into a thread and go "lolol 360 is better than PS3." This rule now includes PC, meaning any PC Elitism will be considered bannable.
- No "What should I get" threads. This is basically what it says on the rule. Don't ask us if you should get that super cool new fun fun game or that very epically scary horror game. This also applies to "recommend me" threads.
- No "X is better than Y" or "X versus Y" threads. Obviously, any values could be put into X/Y, such as "360 vs. PS3" or "Half life > Halo".
- Don't rush to get the first thread for something new. This helps keep one huge thread about something, not a whole page worth of tiny threads.
- Don't make a thread because you got X in a game. People get new things like hats and stuff in games all the time, it doesn't make you really special.
- Don't make threads shitragging Punkbuster,EA,or Halo, or =(e)=. These type of threads usually end up in a shitstorm.
- No conspiracy shit. Most of your ideas on conspiracies are Pathetic, and have no info to back them up.
-Don't "leech" off of threads. Once a thread reaches the max post count, let only the OP of the thread make the next one. Also, don't make a sequel until it exactly hits 2001 Replies.
-Use a pre-existing thread to ask your question. Also known as Search ----> Post.
-No Live streams. With the exception of a pre-update chat/new release in a pre-existing update/release thread, don't make a thread about something only a handful people will actually watch.
-No "Can I run this" Threads. It bogs down pages with one simple reply, and if you do want to ask, use a pre-existing thread.
-Don't make any sort of thread about how PC gaming is dying. There are enough of these threads already, and the simple answer is "no."
-Don't make a one liner thread about how X sucks. "Hey guys, this game sucks, don't buy it." is not a detailed thread with supporting statements.
-Google can lead to answers if you use it. Don't ask a question without using Google/search, because most likely one of the first results will lead you to be able to fix your problem.
-Furry/Anime Model threads aren't recommended. They ruin your reputation if you made it, and it ends up with nearly the whole thread being banned.
-VALVE OR ANY OTHER GAMING COMPANIES WILL NEVER ASK YOU FOR PERSONAL INFORMATION. If someone needs to "verify" your account using your username and password, DO NOT give it to them. Otherwise you will lose all of your games and possibly your VAC status! (Don't make a thread about how you were jacked/someone tried to jack you)
-Don't beg for someone to buy X game for you. If you don't have enough money, figuring out a way to get money easily in your local area will help, and it makes you look dumb if you beg for a game.
-Don't complain about how you were banned from X server unfairly. It makes you look stupid and accomplishes nothing.
-Don't post that "YOU ARE LATE" video, or the Back in Time song if someone is late. It's unfunny, and there's this thing called the "late" button.
-Don't reply to a let's play if you aren't going to actually play. That way the threads are more organized and we don't need to hear you bitching about how you don't like/have X game.
-Don't ask for help unless you can clearly say the problem and show. The only way for us to fix it would be to not play the half sentence game.
-Stop making threads about your shitty ideas for unlocks/classes/etc
---
Once again, the rules list isn't complete, but still : Use Common Sense.
