I've been wanting to play some kind of scary game recently but i don'd know what to play. Can anyone suggest any good ones, and preferably free. For the pc. Thanx

Yeah i know. I have tried one of the penumbras before but i didnt work on my laptop. I just wanted to see if there are any good ones for free first.

And i have tried afraid of monsters or whatever for HL1. It was pretty good and scary, i just can't get far in it. When the zombies are in the hospital or whatever i always die.

Yeah i have thought about this one. I think i have downloaded it but i just never did install it. I'll give it a try.

I'll agree on just buying Penumbra. Best horror game for a cheap price. I recommend Black Plague over Overture, but it's hard to choose because they're both awesome.

Black plague was scarier, since you couldn't use anything you found as a weapon. And those motherfuckers are scary as shit. But the end confuses me to no end.
In overture, it was a simple 'Find a high spot and hit enemies from that point'

I didn't like Requiem at all, though. Wasn't even scary.
I heard about some horror game called requiem (not penumbra) before. I don't know if it's scary though, you could try it
Requiem was more on the Puzzle part of the game, but it had some sort of storyline into it.

Clarence attached to his mind, so in a way, Clarence made the game scarier. Think about it. You're stuck in an abandoned science lab thingy place and you've got a voice in your head. Maybe this voice is yourself trying to cheer up with a couple of jokes, but subconciously?

Both Penumbra games ave extremely overrated and pretty terrible, if you ask me. I appreciate the great atmosphere, but there needs to be something more to a game to keep me occupied. Anyways, Area 51 by Midway, quite creepy, quite awesome.
^^^^ Wrong. They are awesome games and the way they immerse you into the game is incredible! Not to mention that it helps you to make quick decisions on your feet
